Popular game series that you've never really played.

There exists in gaming many popular series and franchises, but seeing as how much time games take up, it's not always possible to keep up with all of the critical darlings. What game series are you more or less clueless on, and why? Myself...

Final Fantasy - Surprising really, because I owned and played an awful lot of games for the PS1, though I never got hold of a Final Fantasy. The only one I ever played was XI, which isn't exactly your average Final Fantasy. I've since played the remake of III on the DS though.

Metal Gear Solid - I have never played a single game in this series and know nothing about it.

Half Life - I grinded through 5 hours of 2, episode 1. I'm currently in a car driving aimlessly around a beach and can't say I'm enjoying it. I plan to get around to playing through them eventually.

God of War - Simply for not yet owning a PS3. I'm looking forward to playing them though.

Street Fighter - I always prefered the fighting games with weapons. Fists just didn't seem cool enough to me as a kid.

Medal Of Honour - Passed me by completely, and what with having since played tons of shooters, I can't say I regret not touching them.

I've never played the Half-Life or Castlevania series.

Given everyone treating Gordon Freeman as a mute Jesus around here it'll probably be a letdown, though Castlevania could be interesting.

Grand Theft Auto- I've dabbled in IV and San Andreas, but I never really got into it. I enjoyed San Andreas and would have played it more, but my 360 bricked when I was about 2 hours into it, and I haven't gotten back into it yet

Pretty much any Nintendo thing ever
And while I played both of the original Fallouts, I was decidedly unimpressed and have less than an hour clocked on both of them combined.

Never played Half Life. I want to, but I just didn't. There are several I can think of, but I've at least played a tiny bit of them at some point. But I have never played any Half Life.

God of War and Mortal Kombat come to mind.

I also never got very far in Half life 2 due to the fact that my first experience of it was the ps3 version of The Orange Box. Anyone who had it knew how ridiculous the loading times were.

This is precisely what I was going to post... although Snake was in Smash Bros Brawl.

The big one that sticks out at me is Mass Effect.

I maybe played an hour of God of War but it just didn't do anything for me so I've never bothered with the rest of them.

Metal Gear Solid is the big example for me. There's a few other series I've never played either, as well as individual games. I'm only just now playing through psychonauts, I've never played the monkey island series, and I've never played Grim Fandango.

If my friends knew, they'd kill me! :O

Never played a single Metroid, or Castlevania game, and played only 1 zelda game.

I have the orange box, but can't really get into half-life or TF2. I played an hour or two of half-life and thought it sucked. Maybe I needed to play half-life 1 to get the story experience everyone else seems to have had? TF2 just kinda confused me, didn't really get what I was doing or how to play. Portal rocked though (WOOT PORTAL 2!!!)As for other series, I've never played Fallout, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Castlevania, God of War, fighting games (except a street fighter for the snes, I can't remember which), Donkey Kong, Call of Duty (I played it for a half-hour at my friends house and hated it), and a lot of others I don't remember.
