And it's available on Mac now, so I can run it without emulation in two out of three OSes!

It should run on my MacBook, but even if it doesn't, I've got a gaming PC in the closet. Also, posted this on Facebook to try to get my philistine friends to play it.

Damn I'd download this but I don't have the proper computer to play it on. Or a Steam account.
Make one, and "buy" it anyway.

You can download it again if you ever get a better computer, and you won't regret it.

Unless you've already played it on console or something.
Not a bad idea, but sadly I already own it on my 360. You know what? I should play it now.

Because getting free things legally is awesome.
Not always. I remember when The Suffering went free when it was sponsored by the navy or something. Ads for the navy came up every 5 minutes and you couldn't skip/close them... that was really annoying...

There is but one word to describe this:

This is...a triumph.

I feel disgusted with myself now.

Even though I have it on my Xbox, I'm downloading it if my PC's up to specs (Which it probably isn't)

Valve is awesome just for doing this. Would Microsoft release a free Halo game? Would Sony release a free God of War? Nintendo a Mario? No. Valve is amazing.

Indeed, it's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

With this deal, that is.

So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red "download" button right there to the left.
If I didn't already own the game on Steam and on my xbox, I'd be jumping for joy, but as it stands I'm still laughing my arse off.

I'm snagging this even though I have a copy for my PS3, Portal's just too much fun to not want to play it on my PC.
