Greetings once again Escapists. My name is Anarchemitis, and hereunder I shall be making a webcomic.
It started with going through a cool artist [http://www.rawlsy.blogspot.com/]'s blog, on which I found a blank graphic novel panel set, which I decided I would ask permission to use and then started adding speech bubbles filled with whatever, in a similar fashion to Dinosaur Comics. Which is to say that all the comics I shall post, will be identical apart from their commentary.
#1, #2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126399.2676086], #3 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126399#2695606], #4 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126399#2708707], #5 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126399#2725677], #6 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.126399?page=2#2742172]
This is not the first time [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.94061] the Escapist Forums [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.77525] has been home to a webcomic, and probably surprising to you as much as it is for me, nor my first time [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.74570] either. Hopefully if I ever come to some sort of continuity discontinuation, it will be more ceremonious than previous attempts...

*Ahem* Moving on, our Pilot episode.

I'm actually going to have to put this on hold for a while due to reasons undisclosed, and probably will resume at some delightful point in time in the future. Cheers.

Quite amusing. Although, I'd try to keep them a little more concise at least in the beginning.

The artwork is good, and i like the old-style themed mixed with recent events, pretty good comic.

I love it, particularly the Beckham story on the newspaper. Lovely little extra touch. :D

Nice work! I enjoyed the humor, and the stereotypes were great.
And of course the art was amazing.
Extra points for using uptight old men.
Kudos!

The art style for me is rather taste than effort, because I did not draw or pen it. I just did the speech bubbles and words.
And, more to come. I wish to do this about twice a week or so.

Ha, there just had to be a "your mom" joke in the pilot. I liked it, it spoke the truth but I do have to agree the second speech bubble was like a mini wall of text.

You know what? I'm really starting to dig the idea of making short little one-shot comics. I don't know why: the idea has just begun to dig into my brain ferociously, like a mole on steroids.

It makes NO sense for me to be thinking this, because I lack several things that are typically required to make a comic. Examples include drawing skills or any sort of program to make said comics in. Well, I have Photoshop, but I don't know how to use it.

I like your comic by the way. Quite witty and such.

EDIT: Bookmarked, for future reference.

This brings up a question for me actually: how did you do this?

Is it a re-dubbing of something else? Because that's what your wording seems to indicate.

Sorry for the double post.

This is the original picture from www.RAWLS.ca [http://www.rawlsy.blogspot.com/], from his Graphic Novel "Agent Orange".

In Photoshop with a combination of layer masks and the marquee tool, I add some clever text, and bubbles around them.

(My fear in showing that picture would be that then people start ripping this off. Please don't.)

The Long & Short of It

Here's something that should have been done a long time ago. Long enough ago that the internet would be different, and gratefully so.

Hmm...perhaps a bit of a spin on what people said about your last comic, no?

I do find it mildly irritating when people complain about "too much text."
Really - how slow do you read?

Just an idea, you could change the newspaper headline in each comic. A bit like the couch gag in The Simpsons - that was always my favourite part!

Of the Simpsons, or the comic? - Bah, doesn't matter.
I'll see what I can do. But the change won't be installable until August.
