Prototype and InFamous, why are they compared?

So I'm not here to start a flame war or to compare the games, my main question is in the subject line. Why are these two games compared so often? I've played through Prototype and watched inFamous videos, and they have very different styles of gameplay. So why do reviewers compare the two so much? Because they were released fairly close to each other? If anyone could tell me their thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated.

They're both third person action games. They released in close proximity. When two of anything that's the same genre realease at the same time, they are compared. /thread

On paper they appear as super-powered antagonists in a sandbox environment with a military quarantine. In reality they are incredibly different.

Because they're very similar, or at lest appear to be. And then of course there was the whole PS3 exclusive thing that made fanboys rage about it.
