PS3 HD Help

I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their PS3 in which they got the yellow light (or in my case, the red blinking light) of death, and that PS3 got scraped, but tried to save their old hard drive? Basically, I can't use my old hard drive without wiping it. Do any of you, my trusted fellow Escapists, know of any means in which to preserve that data?

I understand that this is not the most intellectually constructive thread, so I have a bonus subject: if you had to live in the world of Dragon Age, what kind of "origin" would you like to have?

My first PS3 yellow-lighted twice. The first time I opened up and "fixed" it. The second time I did it again and then went out, bought a new PS3 and transferred the data from the old hd to the new. Look up how to "fix" the yellow light issue. Is what I did.

I tried to fix it already and it was a no go. I already bought a new PS3. I just want to know how to transfer the data from the old hard drive to the new one, without having to wipe all the old data. Do you know how?
