Bottom line is, did you cancel your subscription when Activision bought Blizzard? Do you refuse to buy any game published by Activision? Have you even written to the company to tell him to stop being such a douche?
Yep to the first two, and as for the first, I never had a subscription. I don't buy Activision games, which is no great loss, as from what I've seen at my friends houses, they're usually crap, and I've sent 3 emails to Kotick personally indicating exactly why he should resign/die.
Aside from the "die" part really not helping the situation or the image of gamers, I respect your conviction. Most people will sit there hurling invectives at Activision, but the moment a new title's released they were waiting on they go rushing towards it. It's like saying you're a vegatarian while eating steak covered with fois gras.

As for me, I fully admit I like some of the games so I just don't complain. Yeah Kotick does some stupid stuff, but the games themselves is the only thing I judge the company by.

Kotick is poorly suited to the videogame industry, Schafer said, and that he has little interest securing the goodwill of gamers. "His obligation is to his shareholders," Schafer said.
I honestly see truth in this. Rock on Schafer!

This is brilliant. Weapons manufacturing is quite profitable though, as good ol' El Presidente from Tropico tells us.

Schaffer is my hero :)

From his comments, Kotick has always just struck me as that guy 'brought in from the Dallas office' on your favorite cop-squad show. Like he just comes in and goes "ALRIGHT, LET'S BUCKLE THIS BS DOWN!" And our heroes all just roll their eyes and sigh dejectedly.

I think Shafer is really clever to do this. He already has the hearts of gamers, this sealed the deal ;)

Kotick shouldn't work in Weapons Manufacturing. Several gun manufacturers tried Koticks profit-centric approach to gun manufacture. It doesn't generally work. Bangor Punta is a pretty good example, as is Lear Siegler Corp. They turned out crap, pissed off their customers, and went broke.

Gun manufacturing is an art. I am annoyed that Schafer actually made that statement.

Few gamers are going to disagree with Schafer, as Kotick does have a tendency to alienate them with the comments he makes, but to suggest that Kotick hasn't built anything in the industry seems disingenuous, however, as he has been the Activision CEO for nearly twenty years.
And from those 20 years I can't remember a single title that rocked the industry. Made it bigger? Sure, but anybody could've done that and more.
Really? Doom? Mechwarrior? Heavy Gear? The Quake series? Battlezone? The early Tony Hawk games? Call of Duty?

Activision has a very long history of publishing and/or producing games that the world at large takes notice of. The trend of producing garbage and being generally unpleasant is a relatively recent turn of events.

And there end another episode of "All My Game Developer"

Honestly I'm getting damn sick and tired of the soup opera that game news has become.

If anyone discovers a bank account with donations for hiring an assassin, I swear I didn't do it. But you are certainly welcome to contribute. For you, for me, for the gamers of the world!

In order:
1: No, I cancelled it 3 months before, when I found out that was going to happen.
2: Yes, I do, not out of principle, mind you, just because their games are shite...
3: No, I know full well how much of that mail gets actually "read". I prefer to stick with my preferred style of "voting with the wallet"

Also, as to the weapons manufacturing idea...I'm actually all for that, Kotick being an arms dealer would make the world a much safer place, think about it. Everyone's running around with the same AK-47, they just release a new color scheme for it every year, and you can buy stickers for 20% of the retail price every few months! And since this guy really likes to kill any original ideas...Imagine the world without teflon rounds, depleted uranium shells, AI guided missiles...Utopia, I tell you, or as close as we can get:)

And here I thought I couldn't love Tim Schafer any more than I currently do... GOD BLESS YOU YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD! <3
