I'm sure at least some of you know Pucca, and if you don't know, well, that's what Youtube's for. but I'll give a quick summary for if you like.
Pucca is a 11-year-old Chinese girl who overzealously chases down a 13-year-old shy ninja named Garu to smother him in kisses.
One of things I like about the Pucca francise (both the online flash shorts and the TV show) is that though it doesn't bend the censor, it can circle around it depending on your perspective.
for example: there's an episode where Garu breaks his leg and gets sent to a hospital, with Pucca as his nurse, and just a few seconds later, Pucca attempts to give Garu a sponge bath, which sends Garu running (or limping, thanks to his aforementioned broken leg).
Doesn't it tell you anything about Pucca's relationship with Garu? how she'd be willing to strip Garu naked to give him a sponge bath?
if not, here's just 1 more example: in "Astral Boy and Dream Girl" Garu ends up having to put girl underpants on a large rhino, subtle gay-rodeo reference, maybe?
seriously though, if the Pucca francise decided to drop the whole censorship thing completely, I wouldn't be surprised if they make an episode where Pucca actually rapes Garu off-screen, assuming they forget about censorship and about making it a family-friendly series completely (I refuse to believe it's merely a children's show, 'cause I know adults that are Pucca fans too.)
