I'm probably not gonna see it, but only because I just don't go to movies in general. It looks interesting enough, but it's just another one of those cool things that I won't go out of my way to check out because I'm too busy with all the other cool things currently occupying me. I honestly think the controversy about it is one of the dumber that I've heard about in a while. When I was a kid, all the games I played had a major undertone of violence - pretend fighting with friends, or having my toys killing eachother. And of course there's the fact that kids are naturally cruel - anyone who's been through public school should know that. And then let's consider that the idea of training a child as an assassin is not a new concept, has been around in fiction for longer than I know, and of course the fact that there have been child assassins in real life. Now I don't know how well the movie (or the graphic novel for that matter) handles the material, but that's a moot point the the controversy - the material itself, regardless of how it's handled, has the intrinsic value of showing people depths of depravity that they may not have known, thus giving a better understanding of humanity. But of course, as with any media controversy, most of of the protesters don't know anything about the movie beyond the fact that there's some link between 'kids' and 'violence', and so it must be evil.
