I took a chance expecting it to be lame but it wasn't bad, some silly bits here and there but overall it was fun.

I'm probably not gonna see it, but only because I just don't go to movies in general. It looks interesting enough, but it's just another one of those cool things that I won't go out of my way to check out because I'm too busy with all the other cool things currently occupying me. I honestly think the controversy about it is one of the dumber that I've heard about in a while. When I was a kid, all the games I played had a major undertone of violence - pretend fighting with friends, or having my toys killing eachother. And of course there's the fact that kids are naturally cruel - anyone who's been through public school should know that. And then let's consider that the idea of training a child as an assassin is not a new concept, has been around in fiction for longer than I know, and of course the fact that there have been child assassins in real life. Now I don't know how well the movie (or the graphic novel for that matter) handles the material, but that's a moot point the the controversy - the material itself, regardless of how it's handled, has the intrinsic value of showing people depths of depravity that they may not have known, thus giving a better understanding of humanity. But of course, as with any media controversy, most of of the protesters don't know anything about the movie beyond the fact that there's some link between 'kids' and 'violence', and so it must be evil.

"Will I?" Don't you mean "Have I?" Because I saw it with my younger brother about a fortnight ago. And it was brilliant :D.

Where's the already saw it and recommend others option? Seriously if you liked/loved Watchmen and thought it had to much talk/backstory vs action/antics Kick-Ass should be a good fit for you.

I'll probably buy it on DVD when it comes out, but I have neither the money nor the spare time to go see it in the cinema at this time.

It doesn't look very realistic... Kids just don't have enough weight to be knocking people back 15 feet.

Also: What kind of parent trusts a 9 year old with a SWITCHBLADE??!
Batman basiclly does with Robin(the kid versions though without lethal force) and remember it's Rated-R so kids shouldn't be able to see it without parental guidence.

I've seen it, I found it a very entertaining film. Sure, it's in bad taste, but that's the kind of films I love!

I enjoyed it a lot more than I enjoyed the comic book, I'll say that much. I thought the movie came together much better.

As for those who are protesting it...it's a film, guys. A dumb action film at that. I doubt anyone's going to be influenced by it.
On the topic of influencing people, "Must kill john lennon!"

on topic of the question, I loved that movie, saw it with two friends, I'd see it again

Already saw it. It was 4:35 on a monday afternoon, and the theatre was empty except for myself, one of my friends, and one of his friends. Suffice it to say, it was very enjoyable, and I appreciated being able to laugh and carry on a bit with my friend and his friend.

Yeah I am going to see it. Mostly because conservatives are whinging abut it. I like it when a movie feels free to do as they see fit and just go for broke in its elements.

True, but that wasn't the point i was trying to make. It's just like Tum-Tum from 3 ninjas, hes 5 years old, but hes still taking out fully trained ninjas, even though he cant possibly possess enough power to knock them out/back. Also, the villains in that movie look ridiculously poorly trained. They clearly didn't use the evil overlord list like any good villain should. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilOverlordList

Noooope. Not a big fan of these stupid movies. Iron Man 2 or The Last Airbender look good though.

The original comic interested me, though I'm glad they went with a lighter tone for the movie. Or so I've been told.
