I don't really have friends, but "acquaintances" I do have: facebook, sometimes texting, or rarely we actually see each other.

Xbox Live mostly... Yeah, I know. I also use the facebook and the Twitter.

Don't have the luxury to see them in person anymore (outside of the rare visit) since most of them moved away but Vent and Skype are wonderful and allow us fairly consistent communication.
IM's, WoW, and LoL are also primary tools in the effort to keep in contact.

Sadly Facebook. I greatly prefer face to face but its impossible when you're in a different province than all your friends.

Well, if you could call them "friends" since I don't hold them warmly near my heart in any way, I talk to them if they talk to me.
