If anybody read these for answers other than their own, I might get flamed for saying this, but: the "AK-47" on COD4. Deadly at point-blank/sniper rifle distances, and everywhere in between. I've got three classes set up with the AK at any given time, because I can use it on every single map and still place in the top three. It's every bit the workhorse in-game as it is in real life.
