This is a game me and my sister play on road trips. Set a hypothetical disaster and talk about how you would get out of it. This isn't role-playing, what you are trying to do is work together to create a perfect solution.
Whoever makes the topic sets the parameters for survival. Who, What, When, Where, Why and all that. All other players must follow those rules. When a solution is found for a current situation the author can advance the plot with another obstacle or resolve it. It's fun after you get the hang of it.
Things to do
-Point out Dangers
-Suggest a course of action
-Resolve questions or concerns other players might have.
-Try to be realistic to the story. You are you, you don't have super-powers or magical gatling guns. Work with what you have.
Let's begin
Disaster strikes, While eating at a local McDonalds a bomb explodes on the horizon. Far enough away, it poses no danger until you notice people outside gasping for air and collapsing. For some reason you and all other patrons of the store are breathing fine. It's time to figure out what to do
Think Quick and Survive
(Now normally at this point I would butt out and let everyone else play the game acting only as mediator, but no-one else knows how to play so I will give an example.)
First things first, we need to find out what is out there and what kind of danger are we looking at. Is it deadly or just incapacitating? Risking going outside wouldn't be smart either. letting one person out there could be condemning them to death, and if they want back in, there is no way of knowing they aren't a bio-hazard to us.
I suggest looking for a radio. Most fast-food places have a stereo hooked up. Turn it on and listen to see if there is anything about this.
We also need to figure out why we are safe here. Why is McDonalds safe and outside is not. And is there anywhere else safe?
