So now it's out, and I feel I dodged a bullet, I picked up the "competitor" yesterday, I got the Silent Hill Collection, and I couldn't be happier with it. SH2 is great.
But a friend of mine is telling me I'm abandoning my favourite series, I've left Resident Evil in the dust because I didn't buy ORC.
Now I ask anyone who bought it, is it good? Is it worth the 60 dollars? Is IGN and the critics wrong on this one?

I like it, it's very nostalgic, probably isn't worth $60 and I'm playing a lot of co-op which is the best way to play it. It's essentially Resident Evil: Left 4 Dead but in third person and a lessened emphasis on melee. Or they could've named it Resident Evil: Cameo.

You're not "abandoning the series" for not picking it up. I'd give it a rent, though, if you're a Resident Evil fan.

I didn't like it from what little I had played, but I played it solo. I'd like to actually be able to sink my teeth into it and give the co-op a try.

I will say it not the best, but it is pretty fun to play Co-op. you can get infected, bleed out which attracts all the zombies towards you, if you get infected you turn into a zombie and attack your team and etc etc.

There are a few problems I find that I'm meh about, but hey if they fix those up I'm sure it will be a good game for laughs and just hang out with some friends.

I was going to buy it but I won't support Capcom right now with all the exclusive DLC/Characters bullshit. I'm still going to buy RE6 though, I might have to stick my fingers in my ears and go lalalala to be able to do it though.

Captcha was twenty three, my birthday is January 23rd. This somehow matters.

I'm interested, but not sold. I'm gunna wait for it to come down around 20-25 bucks before I jump into it. There are more pressing games out atm..

There is no such thing as "abandoning a series", you buy the games that you like, if the game doesnt appeal that much to you (even if it makes part of a series that do appeal to you) don't buy it. That is why I didnt bought Modern Warfare 3, I loved COD 4, liked MW2, but MW3 is soooo similar to MW2 that I just thought that there was no need in droping 60$ for it.

Well I'm not damning the game, but after seeing 20 minutes or so, what I can gather is they've ripped a decent amount from Gears of War, with the emphasis on cover based shooting, and the fact that both squads are named Delta.

I'm going to give it a chance, a chance under harsh criticism and low expectations, but a chance none the less. Hey, it might actually be worth 20 bucks if I wait long enough. But (it's bad I know) I'm putting my faith into RE6, and I think if this one really drops through the floor I might just be done with the series until Shinji jumps back in.

Not a bad game. Though I think it's only fun when you have friends with you. Just my opinion on the matter. Though it is short, but fun. If you play MP then that to is fun. It's like a three way war, between you, the enemy team and the infected.
