And 336,000 people had to be resettled because their homes were irradiated by the fallout.
To relate this back on topic, as you can see, the fallout even reached Germany and is still dangerous today. How many irradiated boars are being eaten without holding a Geiger counter against them?
And there is my issue again: the long-term medical and social consequences of such a disaster. Of course, he breaking of a dam is catastrophic and a major catastrophe, but it can't exactly be generalized like this. If the Hoover Dam broke, people would die, yes. But there would be huge support from all over America and the world. The reason why so many people died to famine when the Banqiao Dam broke was that it broke in China (as brutal as it is to say that).
Dude goes hunting, bags himself a nice big boar. Before getting it home, it's checked with a Geiger counter and deemed too irradiated to be safe to eat.
This apparently happens a LOT thanks to Chernobyl.
Just thought I'd share. I thought it was pretty interesting, especially since I just recently started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC (which is AWESOME).
So... I guess what are your thoughts? Can't really think of any other discussion value, I'm not as awake as I ought to be.
I can go one better. I grew up with said radioactive fallout. I was born the month it hit the UK. My local sheep are STILL radioactive (yes rarely some don't qualify still).
