Ready? I'll start.

Natural gas and fracking are fantastic solutions to improve our economy. Their extensive use across the country and the planet has no long-term consequences whatsoever.

I find it frustrating that some people don't call computers with OSX PCs. a PC is a personal computer, the operating system has no bearing on that.

I find it frustrating that literally nobody knows how to use the word "literally" correctly.

See what I did there? Total misuse of the word, and I get so sick of hearing people say "literally" when I doubt they have any grasp on what the word actually means.

People only used 5% of their brains and geniuses are people who can tap into all of 100%. In that case, why are headshots so damn deadly? If we are only using a small percentage of our brains then we can lose most of it and be perfectly fine.

i think some dictionary recently changed what they consider the meaning of "literally" to include "fucktards who fail to use language properly may use this incorrectly to try and make a point"
not their exact word.

I agree, I literally explode when people do that!

I have a particular dislike of people who say things are 'random' when they really aren't.
*puts traffic cone on head* 'I'm sooooo random! LOHRLZ!'

And people who say 'true fact' when they have shared their treasure trove of knowledge, most of which isn't true or a fact.

It pisses me off (Perhaps a little too much) when people defend organizations like the NSA gobbling up personal information by saying "If I have nothing to hide, why does this matter?" or "oh, this doesn't affect me! I'm not a terrorist!"

Yes, of course it doesn't affect you...for now. By the time it does, it'll be too late to act. And when the meaning of the label "Terrorist" is being constantly redefined and expanded, that may be sooner than you think -_-

Also, what gets me is when people complain about an emotional outburst from a character. I've never understood the mindset that sates when someone close to a character dies, or when a traumatic event occurs, they can't show any emotion at all. Seems dumb, and completely lacking in empathy, which is pretty much needed when speaking for a character.

When people say that the harassment a girl suffers from the (generally male) gaming community just needs to be "taken" and that we need to "grow a spine" and "accept that it happens".

These people need to die in a fire.

Literally die a in fire.

Actually you know what people who think that any form of harassment should be dealt with by telling the VICTIM to "suck it up" need to all die in a fire.

Yeah.

Pathetic excuses for drugs. "Not being high makes me feel bad" in particular.
And what Solemnwar said, with the addition of men who give too much attention to females for just because they're female.
Also people who just call you a nazi because you believe in Socialism/Eugenics is morally okay, then proceeds to tell you why you're wrong for ten minutes.

I'm gonna be "that guy" and jump in with the response everyone's been expecting, but has somehow not been posted yet.

It's "I could NOT care less", not "I could care less". By this point we shouldn't have to fucking explain why the fuck this is. If you're an adult and you don't know how to properly use the word "Not" by now then I'm going to politely ask you and the rest of your inbred, window-licking kind to line up, side by side and proceed to cap the person to your right. I will then proceed to castrate and parade the last remaining one of you around the world as an example of what not to fucking to do.

Also, to a lesser extent, people who are too thick to know how to use the various versions of the words Their/They're/There and Your/You're. Which is, unfortunately, still too common, even on these forums.

You shouldn't have to explain it because David Mitchell has a handily provided rant explaining it:

OT: People who end words with an "uh" sound piss me off no end. Or people that just can't speak fucking English properly. Struggling to think of examples right now though.

"The Dark Ages". The entire concept where people take a bunch of different historical phenomena from different areas and different time periods, add a bunch of exaggerations and some fairy tales which have no real basis in history, conflate it all together into an extremely negative stereotype and then apply it wholesale to an entire continent for a 1,000-year time period. Bonus points if there is something negative which did actually apply to that period and also applied to many others but is treated like it was only the European Middle Ages which had it (e.g. Hippocratic/Galenian medicine).

I don't like using myths as arguments in discussions about history anyway, but this one takes the cake because it's so widespread and ingrained in popular culture that you can just say "oh, the Dark Ages" and feel like you've won the argument.

Dude, you ninja'd my response.
I was literally coming down here to say that exact same thing, and I see this.
I think I'm mildly terrified of your ninja skills.

Hmm, I think you're venting at the wrong issue.

Methane leaking into local wells isn't really a major problem and seeing as the fracking craze is only recent there might be a way to solve it.

No, the biggest problem is the chemicals that are being pumped underground to help with the fracking process. Each company have their own "designer" chemicals which they use however what chemicals are being used are unknown even to the U.S government authorities and scientific community with NDA's as an exception. To be honest, I only really see this as a "American" problem.

I believe that clip is from the excellent documentary Gaslands, and that quite a few people decided to break their NDA just because their water supply was that badly contaminated. I'd say a lot of the bad aspects of fracking are due to poor regulation in the US, it will be essential to transition to a green economy (I just hope we do that faster than we currently are).

Anyway, a surprising amount of people seem to think that to cut a DNA molecule in half, you need to use scissors. Whilst I guess technically you could, you would need insane motor control to get it in the right place. Maybe my friends are just retarded

That video was proved to be 'fake' multiple times.
There are many rational reasons for that occuring that have nothing to do with fracking.

It's because of people like you that we can't have nice things...

Is it fair to call a difference in political opinion BS? It looks to me like fracking would help improve your economy.
