Rare Replay Borders

I've been thinking of getting the Rare Replay collection mainly for the N64 games on it that I never finished back in the day. Jet Force Gemini, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Perfect Dark. Also wouldn't mind playing Blast Corps again plus the 26 other titles. However, I am hesitant due to the borders. I always hated those type of things and found them rather annoying while playing a game. However, is there an option to use no borders and if so does it cause any sort of problems?

At first I thought you meant "can the irritating brightly coloured game-specific borders be turned off", and the answer to that is yes. But if you're talking about black borders for 4:3 aspect ratio games such as Conker, then no. (And this is a good thing because games played at the wrong aspect ratio are a crime against nature.)

Of course, games that always supported 16:9, like Perfect Dark, don't get borders. (Especially since PD is the XBLA remaster, anyhow.)

Anything in the wrong aspect ratio is a crime against the sense of sight.

Well yes, but isn't it lazy porting if they don't convert the old 3D games to modern aspect ratios and resolutions?

I mean they really should have done that and I'm really disappointed that they didn't, and while yes, black bars are better than just stretching it just comes off as them not caring about the games that they didn't, I mean it can't be that hard, modders do it all the time without the dev tools, not saying modding is easy but making those changes probably wouldn't have raised the budget by any significant amount.
