Really Weird Texture Glitch in Fallout New Vegas

Hey all, I just started replaying Fallout New Vegas, this time with an absolute smorgasbord of mods installed to liven up the experience, but I've been experiencing a glitch with the outside ground/dirt textures I can't really figure out.

Every 200 feet or so while outside, the ground will only have its "far away", unbearably low-resolution textures loaded, while everything else nearby (rocks, roads, rail lines, trees, anything but the dirt really) will all be fully loaded with no issue. If I stand still waiting to see if the ground ever loads in, it never will, but if I step forward about 20-30 feet into the low-res areas they'll instantly load the full resolution textures.

I'm pretty sure this isn't some kind of mod error, because I don't have anything that edits ground textures, and I don't think its an issue with LOD, since i went into Fallout.ini and quadrupled all the major LOD values, and while that made everything ELSE load full detail at long distance, the dirt still won't load. Has anyone had any similar problems, or know of a fix for them? All help is appreciated. If I wasn't so broke, I'd send y'all cookies for helping too.

Here are a few screenshots I took to show the issue:

Ran into the same issue once with Fallout 3. I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you other that "reinstall your game."

I was having the same problem after setting the in game timescale to 1 down from the default 30. So I was trying to fix it and I look into the .ini for something to do with the texture lod fade to see if there was a setting that might help and saw this fLandLOFadeSeconds=15.

So the default time scale is 30 and 15 is half of the that so this setting seems like it might have something to do with that, so I set this to 0.5 (half of what i have the timescale at) and it fixed the slow texture transition.

So try setting this to a low value or half your timescale and let me know if it fixes it for you. So I can start spreading the word if this is the fix.

It should be noted that steam overwrites the fallout.ini in your documents folder with the one in the fallout new vegas folder in steamapps. so make the change in the steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Fallout_default.ini if you launch from steam.

@ Ste41k sweet thank you i had almost given up on trying to find something that worked. oh BTW this was for fallout 3 not NV but there essentially the same game

The fLandLOFadeSeconds=15 and setting it too 0.5 fixed my land loading problem however i am still having problems with loading overpasses and far away rocks they seem to be haveing the same issue so i wonder if there is a .ini setting for them as well.

any suggestions on what to look for in the fallout .Ini?

Have you tried BOSS? There could be issues with your mods, even if you don't have anything you think is for ground. I just had to get it last weekend because Skyrim was CTD'ing and I couldn't figure it out. When I started up BOSS it ran through my New Vegas downloads first and found a few errors. It also sorts your load order for you, which really helped.

It's on the Nexus, as well.

If the ini file is anything like Skyrim's, it can't be too in-deapth, so maybe just copy-paste some lines you thik my be relevant into google and see wha it tells you. You may have to add a line here or there to make the textures work properly, as I've had to do what when I've installed mods.

... Not much help, I know.
