Hello, everyone :) So, I managed to completely annihilate the friendzone with my love interest, and after discovering that she used to be a gamer, I've decided that I'd like to use this summer to get her back in the habit. So, at the moment, I'm borrowing my friend's PS2, and I'd like to know if there's any interesting co-op games that we could play together :)

And as an aside, you could also reccommend me any interesting PS2 games, since I've always been a Gamecube kid :)

Dynasty Warriors 4 or 5 if the idea of (easily) murdering thousands of people to rock music sounds appealing (and it should).

Timesplitters 2 is fucking awesome.

You get co-op story, co-op challenges then the MP modes too. One of the best games on the PS2.

This. Awesome coop campaign, awesome multiplayer, and one of the best FPS level makers I've ever seen.

Get the PS2 copy of Half-Life, and do the Decay Co-op.

It's specific to the PS2 version, and a real gem to play through.

While it's not a PS2 game, Legend of Mana for the PS1 has pretty decent co-op in it.

This, so much this. I had it for the xbox so I can't really say what it's like on the PS2, but for the xbox at least it was god damned amazing. So many hours spent with my friends doing all sorts of different game modes (mostly on that snow level with the base in the center with a little bridge jutting out of one end) So much fun

Woah, perfect thread for me and my friend. We've been looking for a lot of co-op games.

May I suggest Destroy All Humans 2 or Ratchet: Deadlocked? Both third-person shooters.

Destroy All Humans 2 is open world game with aliens and anal probes. Also, Richard Horvitz.

Deadlocked is a platformer with a weapon progression system. Funny as hell, too.

Do you guys like racing games? Jak X: Combat Racing is great. I also used to play Lord of the Rings Return of the King with my ex all the time. That's pretty great fun.

Getting a gamecube (They're dirt cheap these days) and playing some melee has never been a bad idea, either. :D

Congrats on the new relationship, too!

Cookie and Cream [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Cookie_%26_Cream], coop 2 player puzzle solver.

And if you only have one controller, they set it up so you can share it as you only need 2 buttons and one stick - just have to get a little cozy. ;)

But yeah, the best would be the Lego Star Wars, Batman, etc. series.

Other interesting games, look up Odin Sphere and Okami.

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance is always fun, and it's fairly easy to compensate if the other player isn't all that good. Or you can play some Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Another vote for Timesplitters 2 (seriously, it is the only FPS I play on consoles), and another vote for Ratchet: Deadlocked? Over here in Australia it's known as Ratchet: Gladiator, so you might have to search for it like that. It is a fantastic game though, a lot of fun, imaginative weapons, great humour and quite a bit of replay value. The co-op is done really well too.

The LEGO games are also pretty great, my favourite would be Batman, but the Star Wars ones are fun too. Haven't played any others.

I remember good times with Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, and a few friends. I also can't recommend Timesplitters myself since I never played it, I will say I've heard good things about the series.
