I recently built an entire new rig from scratch, and it rocks. Crysis and Far Cry 2 at totally full settings, just to give you an idea.

I have been going down a list of games that I should play, but now, since I can, I have been playing more and more recent games, to the point where I am actually pre-ordering stuff and playing the waiting game. What are some games from 2007-2009 that I should catch up on?

Currently playing:
Fallout 3
Oblivion
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Assassins Creed
Farcry 2

Fallout 3 (and its expansions)
Sims 3 (if that's your thing)
That's about all I can think of right now.

I'd recommend Borderlands and/or L4D2, they both look good to me. Borderlands seems pretty unique as well, so I'm intrigued in how it's going to play.

Borderlands.

I still can't comprehend that it's coming out tomorrow. And the school vacation starts next week. My life wins.

Borderlands. However since you like me, are getting it for PC it comes out next monday (the 26th). So you have some time if you want to look at some reviews for it, but so far from user reviews that already have the game it looks fucking great. Get steam and get it!

I recently spent a weekend playing COD4 on all difficulty settings. So thats like... 4 playthroughs in one weekend.

Already beat Bioshock a 3rd time too. But yet its still fun...

Bioshock

Both S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games (unless you suck Yahtzee's P***s all the time, you should realize it's actually a really awesome game - especially with the Oblivion Lost mod. Makes everything so much smoother, better looking, more realistic, and more fun.)

Fallout 3

Uncharted 2

Assassin's Creed

Final Fantasy: Dissidia (actually a really fun fighting game)

Portal

Civilization 4: Gold Edition (I don't know when this was released, but definitely in the last 3 years.)

Crysis Warhead

Portal

Left 4 dead

Saints row 2
(I'm assuming you've already played GTA IV. Yes, it's out for the pc, and yes it's horribly optimized, but if you can run Crysis at decent FPS it shouldn't give you any problems. It's actually quite a lot of fun.)

FEAR 2
(It's good for a few hours of fun. Wait until it's on sale.)

TOR has a tentative release date in 2010... However, if its ANYTHING like the trailers show, its gonna be the next greatest thing since sliced bread.

Not really an RPG fan, but since Mass Effect has gotten some notoriety, I think I should check it out.

Are the FEAR games any good? I am still convinced that DOOM3 has the jump horror genre in videogames pretty much perfected. I mean, its all pretty tame, accept for the heads playing, but it does give you quite a bit of "Ah!... Oh... nevermind" moments. How is FEAR in that sense?
