Morrowind and Oblivion + Mods = Amazing experience that tops the vanilla games

For RTS, Age of Mythology is a truly fun game that I absolutely love just for the single player. It also has a very impressive editor, particularly with a modded one.

That is if you can get into it... I've tried and tried to play that game, but I just don't like it at all...

OT:
Painkiller
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series

Starcraft 2 has proven to be a worthwhile investment, if I say so myself. Other than that, get steam, and get the orange box and L4d2, and both Mass Effects.

Wow, everyone is actually recommending great games?

Wait, maybe ive just been on the console focused theads for a bit too long...

...I love The Escapist.

For RTS's Dawn of War Dark Crusade, DoW 2 is kinda...small, Company of Heroes and World in Conflict.

Other stuff would be, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Deus Ex 1 and 3 (when it comes out, looks nice so far) STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl (with mods) or Call of Pripyat, Metro 2033 (look up some vids of it on PC on youtube, lighting especially is fantaaaaaastic).

Mount&Blade Warband, Tropico (the first one, if you can get past the graphics that were dated even in 2001, is the best in the series), Oblivion+mods, and I'm personally very partial to SimCity 4, Port Royale 2/Patrician 3 (choose either but don't choose both unless you're as much of a diehard for the genre as I am), Capitalism 2, and Paradox's 2D games (Crusader Kings/Europa Universalis 2/Victoria/Hearts of Iron 2).

If you like oldish RPGs (Fallout style ones), I would highly recommend Arcanium. Pretty good game.

Starcraft 2, I just got it and it lives up to all the hype!

I would have to say anything from The Elder Scrolls series and The Orange Box is pretty great.

Star Wars TOR is coming out soon, try looking that one up.
I need to get that 'agree' button shipped to my place. But the strikes aren't necessary.

I noticed several BioWare rpgs in your list so might I suggest BG1&2?

That is if you haven't yet experienced the greatest game ever produced by BioWare (and maybe the greatest game ever produced period). Actually, I suggest playing BG1&2 even if you ALREADY played through them before. I know that I keep those two game installed permanently.
