Remember when EA said "Sense of pride and accomplishment"? It's a Guinness world record now

Man, it only feels like yesterday when everyone either went apeshit crazy mad with the grinding or laughing their asses off at EA for the microtransaction substitute, thousands of memes born quoting "sense of pride and accomplishment", CNN news coverage on video games other than "They cause violence", multiple countries around the world began regulating loot boxes, when EA's stock took a nose-dive, and the "pink Vader is not canon" comment from EA.

It's been almost two years. Time flies, doesn't it?

Didn't it break the world record on day 3 of existing or something? I seem to remember it becoming the most downvoted comment ever on reddit in no time at all.

I'm sure EA is Proud.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they don't care. They don't even understand why people dislike them because they're making monies, so how can they be hated?

To quote Jim Sterling "EA would stab a baby for a dollar", because hey, that's an easy dollar.

I hope they feel a sense of Pride and Accomplishment over it.

...But really, I doubt they give a damn. As long as people keep buying a new FIFA game every year and dropping hundreds on Totally-not-gambleboxes every single time, they'll just laugh themselves to the bank.

And then they'll keep trying to dream up ways to make hardcore gamers accept it so they can exploit even more people.

Their next marketing push would be "how can we make more babies that we can stab for a dollar? Can we make a baby for under a dollar? Can we convince people to pay us more than a dollar to stab a baby?"

Let's cut the baby up into smaller pieces and charge 20c for each one while still charging $1 for the head and torso. Maybe we can offer different coloured babies... future DLC will include FEMALE babies.

As much as I know they don't care, I still tell EA to go fuck themselves. Earlier today, I was talking to another customer at GameStop and he claimed how Activision or EA "wasn't that bad". Then I mentioned the shit both pulled off and all the talented developers they laid off for petty reason. The guy had no rebuttal for that one. I swear some people are blinding themselves the bad things the industry has pulled. He seemed like a nice guy though. He was really shocked when I mentioned what Activision did to Raven Software. Dude did not know the developer even existed.

What's even funnier is when you look at what the second placed entry has... a trifling 88k downvotes...

That record ain't going nowheres for a long time... unless EA shoves it up their own arses again... and I wouldn't put it past them to.

See, but now it's printed in a book that stopped being relevant 15 years ago (if it ever was to begin with). That makes it official!

The day you can bribe officials for world cup hosting rights, use migrant slave labor to build entire stadiums for a single game then abandon them forever, bribe referees, impoverish third-world countries and engage in widespread systemic bigoted shit against the peoples of those countries on their own soil, and traffic underage prostitutes for players and officials, I'll admit those are FIFA games. Until then they're just professional soccer simulators.

At least EA is uniquely suited to produce an actual FIFA game.

I wonder what would happen if a unique user posted that Sterling quote on their Twitter page everyday...
