Report: Bethesda Showing Skyrim Remaster, Prey 2, Wolfenstein 2 and More at E3

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1327/1327291.jpgWord on the street is that a Skyrim remaster and several sequels will be shown off at Bethesda's E3 event Sunday.

If you've always wanted to play Skyrim on your new console, it sounds like you may get the chance soon. A rumor making the rounds claims that Bethesda will show up a remastered version of the latest Elder Scrolls game at E3. Also mentioned in the rumor are a number of sequels, including Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2, and the elusive Prey 2.

The Skyrim remaster was first mentioned in passing on the Enter the Dragon Punch posted on NeoGAF [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcScu0Jf1h8&feature=youtu.be] saying "It's real."

Dragon Punch claims that the remaster will not only include the game, but also all the DLC and support for mods on console, which would be a big win for gamers. After all, the list of amazing Skyrim mods is long, and we know that Bethesda has mods working on console already.

A sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order was first mentioned last year, when voice actress Alicja Bachleda-Curus, who voiced Anya Oliwa in the game, said she was working on a second game [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/142533-Wolfenstein-New-Order-Sequel-Rumored]. Both New Order and Old Blood were critically and commercially successful, so a new game in the series wouldn't be a huge surprise.

There's been little noise about a sequel to The Evil Within, but given that the first one did well, it wouldn't be a surprise.

The most interesting game on the rumored-to-appear list is Prey 2, which has had a tumultuous history. First under development at Human Head, it was under scrutiny from Bethesda, who said in 2013 that the game "updated to point to a hidden Facebook page [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125201-].

We'll find out how true all of these rumors are at Bethesda's E3 press conference, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 12 at 10 PM ET.

I already have a Skyrim Remaster on my PC thank you very much ;)

If there is anything I would prefer to be remastered its a Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster.

All 3 games and all their crucial DLC in one package and near seamless save transitions between games (Despite the "ending")

Go Halo Master-Cheif collection on the games EA/Bioware please.

Prey 2 looked very promising, so I'm glad it's getting a second chance.

A Skyrim remaster is complete BS though, who the hell ever asked for that?

People on current gen consoles perhaps? It would also explain why they haven't released Skyrim as backwards compatible title for Xbox.

Yeeaaaaaahhhhh.... The whole Skyrim remaster thing does absolutely nothing for me. If you have a semi-decent PC you can easily create your own "remaster" of the game with mods. I guess this is mainly for console people only. I was hoping for just a hint at a new Elder Scrolls game, not necessarily footage, but just an announcement that one would be coming in the somewhat near future. Ah well.

The Evil Within 2 has me slightly interested. The first game wasn't like AMAZING or anything. Just kinda another modern Resident Evil type game, but I'm a sucker for shooting weird zombie things.

When even a potato laptop can run Skyrim, why bother with a remaster?

Can't believe people are still shocked about popular games getting remasters.

This happened during the early years of the Xbox 360 and PS3, why should this be any different? There are people who have an xbox1 and ps4's that may not of owned the last gen, perfect chance for them people to pick up the game and play it without needing to build a pc, because as we all know, not everyone can do that. *awaits the PC Expert to tell me how easy it is*

I think console players are going to be disappointed with how few mods will be compatible with this new version of Skyrim. The majority of the best mods require script extenders and other things that won't be allowed on console. I just don't see this working out all too well considering how old/established the Skyrim modding community is at this point. They are going to want to stick to PC mods, with maybe a small minority modding for consoles specifically.

Yay, The Evil Within 2. Maybe this time they can try to make it not complete shit.

I'll be looking forward to that Wolfenstein sequel though.

This is where PC gamers say "whatever" then a week after release, there will be a new patch screwing-up all the mods. And I'll be damned if most modders will bother updating their mods given how old most of them are now.

And you know, this is Steam. Dgaf about you not wanting to update.

Hmm, did anybody inform them that Witcher 3 kind of trounced all over Skyrim skyquests. Siderim skyrests. Er Skyrim sidequests? Wolfenstein sequel eh? I was a bit disappointed by The Old Blood expansion, it felt like their good ideas were running low in that. Who asked for an Evil Within sequel?? Did that game sell well or something? Shamefully, my curiousity forced me to try it and it felt like a student exploration of horror tropes. Gave up by the time the long haired spiderboss had to be burnt multiple times from multiple areas as my wheezing asthmatic lard-ass of a character bumbled up and down ladders made of velcro apparently to get away from instadeath. Fuck that noise, it didn't add any intrigue for me to keep going. Ooh...Prey 2!

I like the idea of a Skyrim getting 'updated' graphics but... I'm not sure it needs it. I upgraded my computer a couple months ago, installed/modded up Skyrim and I'm still playing it. It's fine as is, and I'd rather they just work on the next title.

My first thought upon reading "remastered skyrim" is, OK, so, basically what already exists, but all the DLC and the HD Texture packs included, and works on the current gen of consoles. I can't imagine Bethesda putting in any actual work on a four (yes, four!) year old game.

Until proven otherwise the idea of Skyrim on PS4 & Xbox One is false. Skyrim was dead the moment Sony & MS decided to release PS4 & Xbox One before VR was ready.

Bethesda is more likely to focus on that Saints Row version of Metro Fallout.

Bethesda is also more likely to announce Skyrim free from Games With Gold.... Which also wouldn't happen as Microsoft now obsesses over GWG being playable on Xbox One.

Cool. I'll take a remaster of Skyrim for my PS4. Another easy platinum, and hopefully I won't have to deal with those loading screens and how the game would just crash sometimes on my PS3. Hope they fix some of the quest-breaking bugs too.

With all that being said though, I'd gladly take the next Elder Scrolls game over a remaster of Skyrim any day.

One also assumes theyll bring Dishonoured 2 to show off again.

But then i dont need my crystal ball or the 'shrooms for that. I know that anyone looking to stoke the boiler for thier hype trains are going to haul in as much material as possible.

Because MS and Sony both cut off backwards compatibility therefore all publishers can resell last gen games again on the current gen consoles. Unlike PC where we can still run Morrowind :)

if there is a skyrim remaster, I'd like to know if it means anything to PC. I realise that, if true, it is aimed PURELY to make money on new consoles, however I would love to know if the engine/textures etc are current gen. EG. will the game have any smarter AI, higher draw distances/LOD, water textures, memory usage, etc.

All I was is Witcher 3's level of quests and things to do with the ability to make my own character.

I don't make my trade programming. Is that really too much to ask?

Uh, its Bethesda you're dealing with. These are the people who fixed game breaking bugs in Oblivion on PS3 but then managed to reintroduce the same bugs in their GOTY edition. The best you can probably hope for is the mod support allowing the communit oatch that always comes out to do Bethesdas work for them.
