With the recent re-re-releasing the original Resident Evil game and launch of the episodic Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Capcom has had a successful past few weeks in pleasing the fans of this series. However, that hasn't stopped the constant. Today, Capcom has announced the development of Resident Evil: The MM0-Virus.
"The past few games have included both co-op and competitive multi-player modes. Those have been rather limited in scale but now we want to follow in Bioware and Bethesda's steps and release an MMO to get all that cash money" said Kazuhiko Abe, President of Capcom USA.
Abe also went into detail about the game's mechanics.
"With such a rich cast of tens of characters, we wanted the players to be able to just go wild and do whatever their dirty, rule 34 corrupted minds could come up with. Each player chooses one of the few story characters and then joins up with others to slay super zombies that have chain guns for eyes and really big spooky animals like snakes, scorpions and spiders."
"These next two words will make every person rush out to pre-order, I guarantee it. Ready? Boulder raids. That's right, imagine hundreds of Chris Redfield's punching boulders, shooting rockets into volcanoes and other insane acts of awesome. This is what the creation of the internet was leading up to. This is looking at God himself and having him give you the best one-handed tugboat of your life. Gamers, get ready!" said Abe.
We tried to get a comment on a possible teaser for Resident Evil 7 but all we could get was "It won't be like the originals so stop asking."
We also attempted to contact Shinji Mikami to get his opinion on the project. However, after he heard the details, he said he would "commit harakiri" by drowning himself in the toilet. This reporter hopes that he at least flushes BEFORE doing so.
Look for the on-disc character DLC to be found out sometime in the near future.
