Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced that the Japanese economy will be converted to comply with a new standard based on a fixed price point of Amiibos, the hottest new product from Nintendo.
"The gold standard as we know it is an archaic model of economic measures from back when England still had an empire and while our own nation was still rather isolated from the rest of the world. To keep financial power in the pocket of the consumer, such a change is necessary" said Abe.
When asked why such a change to the economy was needed, Abe gave a stunning answer.
"Gold was a good finite resource but now it's just becoming a little too finite. With Amiibos, we don't have to ever worry about possibly running out. We can keep the supply low but not too low. Keeping the proletarians happy and free from thoughts of revolt is a good move on all aspects."
Abe also commented on his thoughts of Western acceptance of such an unusual exchange rate.
"Americans like physical things to hold and things that are shiny. Amiibos combine the two while also reminding them how ingrained Japanese entertainment is in the Western world. Basically, we have the West by the balls with this. Filthy Gaijin think they own the world just because they won World War II..."
TACO News also went to Nintendo of America's HQ to get a response.
"All I know is that if corporate wants the gays excluded from Tomodachi Life, I do it. If they want a Youtube Creator Program put in place, I do it. If they want an economy based on Amiibos, I do it. My life's a lot easier when I just say 'yes' to it all and focus on making more memes" said Reggie Fils-Aimé, President of Nintendo of America.
