Michael Johnson hopes to spread racial equality and maybe set a world record by being the first person to tour both the US and Africa in an attempt to apologize to every person of color about slavery.

"Slavery was like really bad. I feel horrible about it but not horrible enough to do something else. Plus, potential internet fame yo." said Johnson

When asked about his potentially offensive attire, Johnson was quick to answer.

"See, I think of it as taking back something from racists and making it mean something else. You know how the People of Color took back ****** by making it nigga? I'm thinking the same of this. By the way, do you know where I could get some flammable crosses for cheap? It gets chilly at night.

I have no idea where to find the original article I read, but I remember a story about a group in England that goes out every so often to "apologize" for slavery and they basically chain a bunch of white people up and walk them around whilst they wear shirts and clothing with the word sorry printed on it. I remember pictures of White people carrying around literal crosses or wearing yokes whilst they talked about "cleansing" themselves of the sins of their ancestors.

EDIT: Just to be fair though, I think some of the slavery walk stuff is also linked to protests to end modern day human trafficking, so it's not all just White people apologizing for slavery 200 years ago.

White people shouldnt have to apologise to africans because of slavery. I never sold anyone into slavery, and the people in africa arnt in slavery now. So unless you go back in time and bring the slave drivers into the present then this is just white guilt at its most stupid. Sorry, but as horrible as the slave trade was, there were still more white people sold into slavery. Even today their are slaves sold into slavery. Black people seem to have the monopoly in slavery. People need to look to the future and deal with slavery that is happening now, not looking back to the past.

Oh sure, I came into this thread expecting it to be real.

Taking the issue seriously though, there's another problem in that it'd mean nothing if white people did apologise for things that happened centuries ago. It would, however, indicate that people are thinking about racism as something out of the history books, which is a big issue.

What's REALLY funny is that for half (Well, a quarter anyways) of those countries not invaded, the only reasons for staying relatively free of British colonialism is due to the fact that places like Côte d?Ivoire were actually French-recognized ports and settlements. So even though the British didn't invade places like the modern CAR, Mali, etc ... they remained invasion free solely because the British officially recognized them as French colonial assets.

So it's less a case of 'Well, we never got around to it', and more a case of 'You remain outside our influence because we CHOOSE not to involve you.'

Oi!! It just so happens you start a fight with Scandinavians we burn, loot and pillage in payment for your actions... Its not because of arbitrary reasons.
