Resident Evil: Degeneration Coming To DVD
Sony Pictures [http://www.capcom.com/] are getting ready for the DVD release of Resident Evil: Degeneration, a full-length animated movie that actually follows the story of the famed videogame franchise.
The animated feature made its debut in October at the 2008 Milla Jovovich [http://tgs.cesa.or.jp/english/] carry the name of the videogame series but not much else, Resident Evil: Degeneration follows the games so closely that its conclusion "sets the stage perfectly for Resident Evil 5," due to launch in March 2009.
Set seven years after the destruction of Raccoon City, terrorists are launching biohazard attacks all over the world. When someone manages to release a zombie in the airport where heroine Claire Redfield has just landed, the authorities send in her Resident Evil 2 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_2] cohort, Leon S. Kennedy, to clean house. "Along the way, they meet a sexy cop, a sleazy senator, a clever scientist and a whole lot of undead," our intrepid movie reviewer wrote. "I won't go into specifics (no spoiler, I), but if you've played through any of the games, you probably already have a fair idea of the kinds of twists and turns the story takes."
Even if you couldn't make it to Tokyo and missed the limited U.S. showings in New York City and Los Angeles in November, you'll still have plenty of chances to catch it: Resident Evil: Degeneration is being released on DVD on December 30, with special features like character profiles, bloopers, "featurettes" and a sneak preview of Resident Evil 5.
