Hi this is my first review so wish me luck

###This is a mod and therefore requires Half Life 2###

Okay so the point of Source forts is to build a fort to protect your flag in a kind of CTF gamemode.

Okay that's my short summary done time to get nitty and gritty. The game is like a capture the flag gamemode and is set in mainly two rounds. The first round is a build phase where you and your team mates try to build a barricade to stop the other team from catching your flag by any means possible. The second round is where you and your team mates actually try to get the flag and vice versa. In the second round you get your average classes the scout, the soldier, the rocketeer, the engineer and the sniper and you then play CTF like normal games but you have to go through the barricades or the forts to capture the flag. These rounds repeat a couple of times so you can improve your defenses and try attacking again

The First Round

So the first round is pretty basic... on paper. You start off with a gravity gun which can launch objects, grab objects and freeze objects in the exact position it is in. The latter option is the one thing you need otherwise the game would be pointless and stupid. All the maps include a spawn point for you, a spawn point for the 'flag' a lot of space and a spawn point for objects. Now these object are walls and boxes that you use to block off certain gateways so that it's harder for the enemies to get in the base. You can also use thinner longer walls as a platform above the walls so you can defend the base from attackers or get over the walls without making an easy entrance for the attackers. These objects vary from long and thin to square. There are also blocks that you can use as a step. There are some limitations so it's more balanced, you have a space lmit so you dont build into the enemy base, a object limit and a time limit but you can change all of this except from the space limit if you create a server. When the time limit ends the round ends too and this takes us to...

The Second Round
Now the second round is much more simple... Just kill the enemies and try to capture their flag. You get to choose certain classes too so you don't have to stick to one playing style. As I've said before there is a sniper who gets to have a Crossbow, a soldier who gets an Assault rifle, an engineer who gets a Shotgun and also a Gravity Gun which isn't as good as the one in the first round, the rocketeer who gets the Rocket Launcher but it's not laser guided like the normal one in Half Life 2 and the scout who is quite fast and has a SMG. This dosen't require that much information as it's pretty self explanitory so I'll finish it here.

My Opinion
I enjoy this game as there is very few bugs and a small amount of lag. One problem with this is that there are lots of empty severs so it's hard to find a game. This is also quite an original title and is quite fun living your fort building dreams. It mixes FPS and construction quite well and has only a few Cons.

The problems I've experianced is not being able to rotate the objects so getting a good angle can be quite difficult and there is a good chance of some people griefing. The game does have a few tricks up it's sleeve like how you can go through players so there isn't a person blocking the entrance to the only exit from your base and you can 'unfreeze' any objects so you don't get trapped by annoying people, there is a small problem with this though as idiots can get rid of your main defence that you spend ages on making. I have also experianced this.

Besides from this Source Forts is quite an enjoyable game in which the Pros outweigh the Cons... and also it's FREE

Thank you for reading and leave comments on how I did... Constructive Critisism is what I'm looking for

Good idea reviewing a mod. There are plenty of good mods that need more players.
