I agree with this. There's a way to be hilarious without having to shoot people down OR kiss their butts.

Comedy is always funnier when a comedian can link it to something the audience might actually experience, connects them that bit better.

I really hope Ricky Gervais is reading this thread, so much good advice for him here. Seriously, one would think that internationally renowned comedian that he supposedly is would know how to make a proper joke by now. Like, about that airplane food. What's the deal with it?
