Hi. I'm not going to talk about whether you should buy this game or not. I would like to just share my expirience with everyone who is looking for advice. I'm going to tackle few things.
1. What is better - mage or warrior?
Warrior. The game is pretty well balanced and you have a lot of fun with a mage. Still, thanks to alchemy, a warrior is the way to go. Why is that? Damage is calculated based on your strength and weapon damage. And your strength is a HUGE part of this amount. If you'll make your character right, you can 2 shot most powerful monsters in the game.
2. How to make a good warrior?
The best way is to join the Don. Later you will be able to train swords or axes to 10 lvl.
First points invest in picking locks and stealth. Then steal everything that isn't nailed to the ground (apart from the butchers shop cause one of the quests won?t work). From that point, every point has to go in strength until you reach 100 (max a trainer can teach you). Then alchemy 3 lvl. From that point you will just get OP as you can make +5 str potions that will give you more str than any trainer can teach you. It's important not to drink those potions before you'll get 100 str as you won't reach your maximum potential. To make +5 str pot you need ogreroot and heros crown. There are 20 heros crowns in the game so that is +100 str. Than you can find one in the alchemist shop and don esteban will give you one later. You can also learn cooking and get even more. Anyway, you will land up with approx 215 str. Get a decent sword and nothing will stop you.

and here for ogre root:

recipe for the potion is in on of the monasteries on the west coast (12 or 10 on the ogresroot map)
You dont have to get them all, 170 str will do the job.
3. Axe or sword
Axe - more dmg (in later chapters you get axes with around 100 and later 120 dmg) but assuming you have around 200 str it's not that great
Swords - range -my favorite, and If you reforge the souldrinker you'll get decent dmg too.
4. Where to get a decent sword - souldrinker - 75 dmg - an elegant weapon, for more civilized times.
1 part is close to nr 12 on ogresroot map - on a beach below the monasteir in a treasure chest.
2nd part is guarded by two ogres in a treasure chest close to nr 5 on ogresroot map.
5. But I'm weak! how to defeat 2 ogres!
Get a lot of strenght to do some dmg to them. Dont block or they will f**k you up. Take a few steps back, when he charges dodge to the side, try to land a few blows and step back. You can save after each successful try (lame way) or get good at it. Maybe you can sneak to the treasure chest, I'm not sure.
I think that's all. I tried to answer questions I always have while entering a new game to meke out most of it. If you would have some questions or tips feel free to add something.
Oh and that's my first thread and second post so don't get too bashful on my ass ;p
