I hate this, what was wrong with the happy go lucky Robin we're all used to? I'm happy they're not using Dick Grayson but if you had to make a Robin with a design like this then why didn't they use Damien? First off get that hood the hell out of there it makes him look stupid. Second tone him down Robin does not need to be a goddamn bodybuilder. I always imagined Robin to be the lighter side of Batman like good cop, bad cop. (With the exception of Damien where it's more bad cop, worst cop)

Also there's a good reason why Robin never wore a hood for all you guys saying it's more realistic that way. When Dick Grayson and Damien Wayne were hanging out, Damien starts wearing a hood and Dick tells him, "You know one of the first things Batman taught me was that a hood functions more as a blindfold." Then he proceeded to pull the hood over Damien's face to blind him.

Oh and goddamn it Robin never shaved his head. I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy but as someone who's known the comics well I think this design is stupid. It's a completely unnecessary change.

So, for pre-order "exclusives" we have:

Best Buy: Robin & 2 challenge maps
Gamestop: 1 Joker-themed challenge map
Amazon: $10 credit & a physical comic book

...I think I'll pre-order it from Amazon. I bought "Arkham Asylum" from Amazon and got the free comic then, too. With what Rockstar and other game companies are now doing by releasing pre-order DLC for purchase I'd rather just pay later for those things and enjoy the real-world comic that I wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

...is anywhere else offering up "exclusive" DLC for "Arkham City"?

I was going to do a rant but you beat me to it.

In fact Let compare.

Now he look like:

Oddly enough I like the Arkham look but hate the hair. It's practical.

But I jate the fact he is brooding. Please don't tell me he is going to whine about his past. I wonder if Tim drake is still the son of Jack Drake though.

Oh well, can't wait for October.

exclusive to pre orders from best buy? Pretty lame. I dunno why people think this helps sell their games.

Oh, they're his thumbs! I was trying to work out why nobody seemed grossed out by the skin showing between pelvis and thigh. (Like butt-less chaps worn in reverse? :S)

I think my favourite Robin will always be the one from the animated Teen Titan's. This one looks interesting, but the outfit seems to not work well with the colour scheme.

I would totally adore it...if he had hair. An epic hairstyle can go a long way.
Bald doesn't equal Badass. It equals Bald.

Can Batman look at him in game and say something?
I would.

I think my biggest complaint with Robin in this design is he's so... muscular. I thing Robin's best with a very light muscle development, so that he's lighter and more agile, wich is more to his nature of being an acrobat and tight rope walker.

The staff actually makes sense when you take into account his upbringing as an acrobat. Good not only as a weapon, but for keeping balance during perilous walks across narrow surfaces.

Really ought to be longer, though, unless it's a modern collapsible type.
That was Dick Grayson. Tim Drake wasn't raised as an acrobat.
Ahh. I stand (well, sit, actually) corrected!
But Tim Drake has a staff since he was trained in Staff fighting by Lady Shiva, so he is actually one of the best staff fighters in the world

Batman: Robin...?

Robin: Hn?

Batman: Why did you shave your head?

Robin: I've found a new idol in Vin Diesel. I'm trying to look just like him, what do you think?

Batman: I knew I shouldn't have let you hook up a DVD player to the screen in the Bat Cave.

Looks cool but a minor-nitpick is the cape.
Lord Beautiful said:
One complaint: can that cape be extended a bit or just removed altogether? It doesn't look right as is.
Same here but since it looks like concept/art I wouldn't expect to see it in the game. It looks like a tailor was making it for him but suddenly ran out of materials and had to cut it short.

I actually prefer the boy-wonder look to a buff Robin...looks like I'm in the minority here though. It's not that I think the redesign is BAD, it's just not the Robin I appreciate.

Oh well, at least it's a highly optional thing. Doesn't become a problem unless I focus on it.

The concept art looks good, the model... not so much. It's mostly the prison-style haircut and the brooding emo look I guess, partially the exaggerated musculature.

I'd prefer a lean athletic look over that of Schwarzenegger from the 'Hercules in New York' era.

Wait, if the Arkham City Robin is Tim Drake...

Where's Dick Grayson?

*SEQUEL FORSHADOW*
He became Nightwing....I'm honestly surprised you didn't know that

I think my fiancee said it best "he's supposed to be the boy wonder, thats the point. If you don't want the boy wonder don't use Robin, make up your own character you thieving [some derogative]"

Personally I think he sounds a bit like Jason Todd, I'm beginning to think a lot of comic books problems occur when creators try to change a character to be "more contemporary"

Looks pretty good, and the hood looks like it would hide his identity better than that little mask.
I actually beg to differ. Someone like Ezio from AC can get away with ti realistically because he's not supposed to be an all-out melee fighter. he's stealthy and smooth. And even though he jumps across rooftops and such, he is supposed to be something next to invisible. So if his hood slips down/back due to an acrobatic, well, first you gotta find him in order to prove it's Ezio.

Robin, on the other hand, is a fighter. He goes around kicking ass and taking names. His acrobatics do not go with a loose hood that's supposed to conceal his identity. Unless he's wearing a mask underneath (And I think he's not), someone is bound to see his face eventually. Yeah, he could probably knock those guys out. But hey, they gotta come back to their senses one day.

In order for him to wear a loose hood AND keep his identity conceal, it would mean he's more badass than Batman himself. And that's just not possible.

Btw, I love the design. But I don't think it's convenient. But we'll see.
Well, obviously he glues the hood to his head and lost his hair when he forgot to apply the the Bat-glue solvent before taking it off.

It makes perfect sense!

If I had to choose a Robin for comparison, I'd say this reminds me more of Jason Todd than any of the others.

Saying that, I'll have to wait until the game is out to see if this one is at all murderous or uses excessive force like Jason Todd.
Totally agree. I must be the odd one out because i thought Todd was one of the more interesting Robins

If you watch the recent gameplay footage there's a reference to Death in the Family (the comic Jason Todd died in) right at the beginning of the video. The painting looks like the famous image.

I think this is Tim Drake because of the point it's at in Batman's career and Jason's death will play into the story somehow. Maybe a Scarecrow sequence?
