Yeah, because it's an acceptable practice for a company to outrightly blame another company for things affecting their business; ie, Microsoft making some kind of backdoor deal with MadCatz. It would be an incredibly stupid (and unprofessional) move to drop the hammer on them, because they still have to work with them in the future.Blind Sight said:See, whenever I hear something about 'agreement terms' that doesn't even explain the problem with the terms, my bullshit sensor goes off.
I didn't say anything about their business practices, just that it's something I pick up and factor into what I purchase. I don't care if it's a good business move, it's still something that makes me a little less likely to purchase their product, that's all.Shale_Dirk said:Yeah, because it's an acceptable practice for a company to outrightly blame another company for things affecting their business; ie, Microsoft making some kind of backdoor deal with MadCatz. Nah, if it was Microsoft it would be affecting the Wii as well. Since it's specifically the PS3 version, I'm betting it has something to do with the peripherial licensing through Sony.SaintWaldo said:Mad Catz is the one to really ask, I think. Also, when it comes to restrictions in the U.S. or NA region, another highly likely culprit is usually Microsoft. Remember the total absence of a Mad Catz microphone with RB buttons for PS3? Yeah, some of us do.
Harmonix is just the news bearer.
Can't be Microsoft gumming up the works, otherwise why would the Wii also get a bundle? From the post linked in the article:SaintWaldo said:Missing out on a Mad Catz bundled keytar (guiteyboard?) is nothing to get upset about, on any platform. I'm just buying the Rock Band 3 MIDI PRO-Adapter and plugging in a real MIDI keyboard, anyway.

If it was Microsoft I'd imagine they'd make it so it's only for the 360.Harmonix guy said:· The Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii keyboard/software bundles are still available for pre-order.

It DOES make sense if you understand that they have given up trying to defeat Nintendo, and freezing out Nintendo (In the US only) would do more harm than not. MS themselves state they aren't competing with Wii for gamers, they compete on HD platforms. So cutting out only Sony means they are fighting even harder for second place and have conceded first overall.mjc0961 said:If it was Microsoft I'd imagine they'd make it so it's only for the 360.
Anyway, if it's Mad Catz making the thing, people are better off without one anyway. Mad Catz makes terrible accessories, I wouldn't use their stuff if I was paid to.
