Well, I'm not sure how many Rock Band fans there are on here (a lot of people seem down on the rhythm genre), but if there are any fans on here, I thought I'd do them a favor and post each week's DLC, in order to allow for discussion. These announcements are confirmed by Harmonix on their official Rock Band forums, and will cover both the main DLC for the next week, and the Rock Band Network DLC released in the previous week. So, without further ado, I'll start us off with the DLC for August 9th.

August 9th will see the release of a 6 pack of Def Leppard songs, releasing for 800 Microsoft points, or $9.99 over PS3, for the pack. These songs are:

1. Pour Some Sugar on Me (live)
2. Animal (live)
3. Photograph
4. Rock of Ages
5. Undefeated
6. Bringin' On the Heartbreak

All six songs will have Pro upgrades.

As for Rock Band Network releases, in no particular order, they are:

Thomas Walker-Gymnopedie No. 1 (Sadie)*
Eminence-Devil's Boulevard
Halcyon Way-Desecration Day*
Morgawr-Dawn(Blood Saga 1)/Through the Maelstrom*
Shakespeare in Hell-Poor Yorick*
Heywood Banks-Toast (live)*
Psyguy- Wha-Chow Theme (Feat. ShadyVox)*
SNMT-PON DE FIOR*
Askari Nari-Cluster #2*
Askari Nari-Reviving a Dead Language*
Emery-The Cheval Glass
Free Spirit-The Moonlight Ride
Free Spirit-Shadow of a Man
Robin Skouteris-American Hero vs. Done

And finally, the Rock Band Network songs being released on PSN:

Blessthefall-What's Left of Me
Nonpoint-Miracle
Nonpoint-Crazy
Magnus "Souleye" Paisson-Positive Force*
dB Soundworks-The Battle of Lil' Slugger (Remix)*

Well, if you are still with me, what do you think of the DLC? Personally, as a big Def Leppard fan, I am quite excited to see more songs by them on the game. I wish "Love Bites", "Armageddon It", and "Hysteria" could be included, but I am quite happy with these choices. Are you? Please let me know.

*Available for 80 MSP or $1 over PSN.

Looking forward to the Def Leppard tracks, but it's always the way. You get a buzz for the songs you never expected, see SOAD, Soundgarden, Sponge, but always lament what they didn't give you. Radio/Video, Face Pollution, Wax Ecstatic, respectively.
Good to get some decent Rock Music for a change, though.
Some more Conchords would be nice though.

DLC for August 16th has been announced, though to me, it is not as good a week as last week.

Fallout Boy- Dance, Dance
Fallout Boy- Sugar, We're Going Down
Fallout Boy- Thnks fr th Mmrs
Deep Purple- Child in Time

As well, here are the Rock Band Network releases of last week.

Fallen Angel- Ashes to Ashes/Leaving it all Behind
Lich King- Act of War*

And finally, the Rock Band Network releases for the PS3 next week.

Buckner and Garcia- Pac-Man Fever
Buckner and Garcia- Froggy's Lament
Buckner and Garcia- Hyperspace
Buckner and Harcia- Mousetrap
Possible Oscar- Dead Again

I'm a bit disappointed with the DLC this week. Not a big FOB fan. Still, "Child in Time" should be fun. Plus, only two RBN songs this week? What the hell?

*Costs $1/80 MSP.

Deep Purple is more than welcomed. The Fallen Angel song is pretty decent, fairly challenging on pro drums because of cymbals getting thrown into rolls when you least expect it.

As for the RBN's lack of songs, the way putting songs through is pretty community centric. There are three different statuses that a song can be under and it where it is depends on what is done.

Pending: Already submitted and awaiting revision to re-enter either Playtest or Peer Review.

A song gets submitted and has to manually be put in playtesting or peer review.

Playtest: Submitted to the Rock Band Creator's site for suggestions and improvement.

Playtesting requires the RBN creator community to go through songs and and playtest them and critique them with an extremely thorough checklist process for every instrument and every difficulty with different stipulations.

Peer Review: Promoted as confident to ship for the community's final approval.

Same as playtesting, but with an expected finalized song.

If a song doesn't get enough playtesting/peer review it gets sent back as if it failed something and must be put through again.

So I'd imagine there is a slump in testers possibly because of school starting back up in some places.

I don't have pro drums, sadly. And out of the four songs, the Deep Purple song is the only one I'll get. It is a long song, though. 10 minutes and 18 seconds, according to Harmonix.

And you make a good point with the lack of songs. It's just disappointing going from 10 to 12 a week to 2.

I do a bit of playtesting from time to time and their current list has a few songs lined up to be put out soon so there should be a few from them at the least next week if people push them through this weekend.

As for the Deep Purple song's length, I love it. Longer songs are always fun to me. Probably within my nature as I am a fan of progressive rock/metal and 20+ minute songs are considered normal.

I'd love to see songs that push 20+ minutes hit Rock Band, without being cut up like Andromeda's Veil of Illumination.

Andromeda is an awesome band, check them out if you haven't, they're on RBN. Challenging on all instruments(and pretty much impossible on keys.)

Wow...it's early, but they've announced the DLC for August 30th. It's an 8 pack of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

By the Way
Californication
Look Around
Monarchy of Roses
Otherside
Parallel Universe
Scar Tissue
The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie

Allow me to say that that list of songs looks positively awesome to play.

His Statue Falls- Give it Up! Give it Up!
Rishloo- River of Glass*
Ultra Saturday- Zombies!! (Coming Out Tonight)*
Van Friscia- Epic Symphony in A Flat Minor, Third Movement: Zero Hour*

I'm not really too excited about the Incubus pack, as I've never been that much of a fan. However, there is a ton of RBN DLC, and I had good times playing Soy Bomb on Guitar Hero II.

DLC for September 6th has been announced. It's a 3 pack of Cheap Trick and an EMF re-record.

Cheap Trick- I Want You to Want Me (live)
Cheap Trick- Surrender (live)
Cheap Trick- Dream Police
EMF- Unbelievable (re-record)

I am really excited that those three Cheap Trick songs have made it on there, as I have been wanting I Want You to Want Me for a long time, and the other two songs were quite fun to play on Guitar Hero. Don't recognize the name of the EMF song, or the name of EMF for that matter, but I'm definitely planning to snatch up the three Cheap Trick songs.

To celebrate the 200th straight week of DLC, for the September 13th DLC, Harmonix is releasing a 3 pack of Weezer and a Janis Joplin song.

Janis Joplin and the Full Tilt Boogie Band- Me and Bobby McGee
Weezer- Hash Pipe

Weezer- Perfect Situation

As well, here are the RBN songs that came out this week on the 360:

Mafia Tracksuit- Funeral on Parade*
Jutbox- OH-KAY!*

Tina Guo- Forbidden City
Parry Gripp- Space Unicorn*
DJ Raptorz- He's Our Savior (both regular and 2X bass pedal)*

Finally, the RBN songs coming out on the PS3 next week:

Amberian Dawn- Arctica
Jukebox the Ghost- Empire
Jukebox the Ghost- The Stars
Kings Queens & Fairytales- Fallen Into You
Twin Atlantic- Audience and Audio*

Well, I'm not much of a Weezer fan, so I can't comment on most of the songs, other than "Island in the Sun", which is a good song. But I am really looking forward to "Me and Bobby McGee". That is a true classic rock song. Pity it came out after Janis Joplin joined the 27 club.

And PS3 folk, I strongly encourage you to check out the Amberian Dawn song. That's a good symphonic metal band.

Blink-182- Up All Night*

Now, the songs that were released for RBN in the last week on 360:

IDLEMINE- Wicked N' Wild
Attack Attack!- Last Breath (with and without double bass pedal)
We Set the Sun- Cody
Denullification- Winter Water Waves**
Daryle Stephen Ackerman- Run Away With Me**

And the RBN releases this week on the 360:

I don't care about Coldplay at all. I might get one of their songs if the keyboard line looks fun, but it's not likely. For you PS3 players, I recommend checking out "Nugget Man". It's a novelty song, but it's a lot of fun.

Finally, the RBN releases over PSN next week:

Pierce the Veil- Caraphernelia
Thomas Walker- Gymnopedie No. 1 (Satie)**
The Limousines- Very Busy People
Free Spirit- Moonlight Ride
Amberian Dawn- Willow Ride

For the Rock Band releases, I'm looking forward to "Thunderkiss '65". For the 360 RBN releases, I should warn those sensitive to it that the Denbigh Cherry and Goliath Down songs are Christian rock. That said, there is much more of an emphasis on rock. Also, "Heat Seeking Ghost of Sex" has to be one of the best song names ever. Finally, for you PS3 players, I would recommend the Thomas Walker song to any classical music fans, and Amberian Dawn to any fans of operatic metal.

What?! A Def Leppard pack without "Pour Some Sugar on Me"?! What has the world come to...
