Rock Band Marathon to Raise Money for Child's Play Charity

Six gamers are poised to play 1,000 Rock Band songs back-to-back to raise funds for the gaming charity, Child's Play.

Starting Friday, November 27 at 9AM EST, six gamers from Raleigh, NC will be hosting a 1,000 song Rock Band charity videogame marathon to benefit Child's Play, a charity which donates toys, games, and books to children's hospitals worldwide. The marathon will be broadcast via Ustream on www.clanofthegraywolf.com [http://www.clanofthegraywolf.com] where people around the world will be able to see three people playing the game at all times (on guitar, drums, and vocals) and a fourth running a live online chat. The event coordinators estimate that it will take more than three days to complete their goal of 1,000 song titles.

Donations for the event are being accepted from November 6 through December 6 and viewers who wish to support the event are encouraged to donate directly to Child's Play through the event website at www.clanofthegraywolf.com [http://www.clanofthegraywolf.com].

well, thats certainly impressive... it is feasible, mind you, considering Rock Band only just breached the 1,000 songs mark.

Dammit, I was actually on the verge of pitching this very thing to the Escapist, starring me and anyone else I could wrangle into the Portland area.

It could still happen. SaintWaldo's Escapapalooza 2010, anyone?

I want to participate in something like this, if only to show the fact that I can pass Green Grass and High Tides getting gold stars on a cosistent basis.

I'd like to thank Escapist for being one of the first mainstream websites to pick up our story. We're still going and at about the 2/3 mark now. If anyone's been waiting to see us as our minds start to crack, now's the time. Any help you guys can give are appreciated! :)
