Rogue Build in DA:O Awakening

Hello friends,
My roommate just started up a file of Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. Having played Origins but never Awakening, I suggested that he try a Cunning-based rogue build, using Lethality (Cunning instead of Strength for damage) and Master Dual-Wielder (Wield two normal-sized weapons). He did so, and upon completing the opening quest, he gained access to a lot of weapons. However, all of the weapons have a minimum strength requirement, and high ones at that (i.e. strength 35 for a non-magical axe).

My question is this: how do you use Master Dual-Wielder if you need a 36 dex to get it, but need a 35 strength to wield the weapons and 36+ cunning to make use of Lethality??

Help a dude out.

Well you can't pick up everything from the start for one thing. For another, I don't think you should be going for Strength based weapons as a Rogue, just take the ones with Dexterity requirements.

Cunning, Dexterity, and Constitution. Cunning ups your damage, Dexterity allows you to use rogue-centric gear, and constitution helps you overcome the many close-encounters you'll have.

Also, willpower. It increases your stamina, which is also pretty essential. Maybe even more essential than Constitution.

Save the high strength gear for your warriors.

I just don't understand why all the one-handed weapons have strength requirements to wield them. There was one with the property "+25% critical/backstab damage" that had a strength requirement of 35. Because it has "backstab" in the properties, shouldn't it be for a rogue? I feel like i'm missing something.

I guess I want to know if there is a way to have a rogue that wields 2 one-handed weapons (not daggers) without having to jack up my strength.

@Vrach - you mentioned Dex requirements. do you remember if there are one-handed weapons that have dex requirements to wield?

You shouldn't bother with normal sized weapons like Long Swords if you're playing as a Rogue with High Dexerity and Cunning. Daggers like the Rose's Thorn or the Thaig Shanker are the best for the build you're going for.

When I played as a rogue I ignored cunning and went Dex + Str so that there was no problems wielding.

There are.

The Dragon Age wiki [http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_Wiki] is a fount of information, by the way.

With enough dexterity you will never have to worry about being hit, it borders on ridiculous.

I can't get my hands on all the talents to look at it right now, isn't there one talent in the Rogue tree that allows you to use Dexterity instead of the Strength requirement of the weapon? So instead of 30 Strength, you'd need 30 Dexterity and such.

there is a dagger in the bar in Amaranthine called "Voice of Velvet" or something
and if you import a character form Dragon Age Origins there's a dagger in Orzamar called "the Rose's Thorn"
no strength requirement for either of those
if you have both of them equipped it gives you 260% back stab damage so with the Assassin specialization you can pretty much kill anything

this was my level 35 build
24 strength (for armor)
50 Dexterity
15 willpower
11 magic
112 cunning
18 constitution

and that's my naked skills
I'm practically unstoppable
