RUMOR: Batman v Superman Being Split Into Two Films?

Is one movie not big enough for DC's heaviest hitters?

Only a moment ago, it seemed like the biggest rumor involving Warner Bros upcoming Jupiter Ascending. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/batman%20v%20superman%20dawn%20of%20justice] But now a much juicier (if more dubious) spot of gossip has hit the web.

An image of unknown origin appeared on Imgur [http://imgur.com/QzqizkP] earlier today, alleging to be sourced from the film's upcoming teaser. It purports to show evidence that the film is being divided into two parts, Enter The Knight and Dawn of Justice. Intriguingly, the image also suggests that the first part could open several months earlier than originally slated.

If true, this could potentially create a de-facto trilogy, as the first Justice League film was supposedly set to follow directly from the ending of this feature. At this time, there has been no confirmation or denial from Warner Bros at this time.

Now I'm confused with how the plan DC has is now. I know it's in flux, but it seems to conflict with their originally announced release scheduled which was revealed months ago. Does anyone know what the hell their plan is now?

"Enter The Knight" is probably the absolute worst subtitle for a movie I've heard in a long time, almost to the point that I think it makes "Dawn of Justice" good.

Although, in a weird way, I do think this movie will benefit from being split into two. I mean, if your plan is to fit the entire DC Universe into it, you might as well split it so it feels less crowded.

I really do hope it's a fake. Taking a 3/4hr movie and splitting it into 2x 1.5-2hr movies is just overkill on the milking of a superhero movie.

I smiled at how bad Dawn Of Justice was, I just laughed out loud at Enter The Knight.

If this is true, it gives me hope that this series will be terrible. Which should make it pretty entertaining to watch.

Enter the F*cking Knight! AAAhahahahahaha! XD

But seriously 2 parts? You know I bet it's worth one movie but what they'll do is stuff or already has stuff that is unnecessary filler which will make it one movie if they actually took the time to edit their sh!te.
But saying all this. Good
From what they're planning to do and what and who we know will be in this film, it NEEDS to be split in 2.

As in: "Batman" and "Superman"?

Seriously, now that I think about it, I don't want any more movies with either of those superheroes, much less one with both of them. Can't we just dial down the superhero shit for a year or so?

Isn't it illegal for studios to split a movie in two after they shoot it since they only paid the actors for one movie? I have a hard time believing that none of the movie has started to be filmed yet if 'part 1' would be due out in October.

Excellent point. There are probably union guidelines against such shenanigans, unless they negotiated that possibility into the actors contracts beforehand. I'm beginning to suspect that WB is modeling their movies off of the DC Animation stuff because of the out of nowhere Suicide Squad movie right after they made the Assault on Arkham video This would fall in line with the structure from the Dark Knight Returns animated adaptation of splitting the 4 issue book into two stories.... but it's probably fake.

And we all let out a collective "huh?" as DC's new movie franchise just gets weirder.

I didn't think it was possible, but by golly do they do try hard.

MOS should have been 2 films. So maybe they figured out a quick disjointed flick is moot. Then again studio people suck at this stuff.

Yeah, it was too good to be true.

I mean, I know WB are out-of-touch morons, but even they wouldn't be quite so tone-deaf as to name a movie "Batman v. Superman: Enter the Knight."

Particularly when the title refers to a character who is the subject of so many gay jokes. I can already hear the jokes on @midnight: "Grab the K-Y and enter the knight!"
