so maybe they'll actually develop for more than just m$ systems and give up excuses of "not having the man power" or something equally as bad
Really? m$?

People always act like Microsoft is the most expensive option out there. Sure Apple's OS is only 50 bucks but their computers are in the thousands and tend to be many times weaker than a similarly priced PC.

Likewise I raise the bullshit flag on stability because I haven't had a crash in two straight years (much of it being uptime I might add...I'm not exactly helping conserve energy :().

At any rate, I don't think Microsoft is a great company or anything like that but...m$ is one of the more irritating internet memes that just refuses to die.

I can't see Valve following their traditional development model, taking as long as it takes to make 3 hours of playable content, as anything but a privately owned company. So I hope against this.

They either take this deal or get absorbed into EA or Activision, I know what I'd prefer seeing.

Best of luck to ZeniMax, but Valve isn't going to be an easy purchase. Valve isn't a struggling developer, but rather a powerful, well-known developer. They don't appear to be hurting for cash, so they won't be quick to jump at any offer, especially if it means they might have somebody higher on the chain directing their development efforts. With such a great set of IP and a clear ability to come up with original material, they'll be able to demand a pretty penny.

If Bethesda's TES:V schedule and VALV[sup]E[/sup]'s HL2:Ep3 schedule are in any way allowed to mingle...

My calculations show that no new games will come out of either of those companies for eight and a half eons.
Hey, when you consider how much playing time I got out of TES:IV, I'm perfectly content waiting for V.

A-hahahahaa, no. Valve are rich - even without Left 4 Dead, Portal, Half-Life 1/2/Episodes, etc, etc, they also own the Steam service, so are probably worth MORE than ZeniMax.
I doubt Zenimax are stupid enough to consider trying to buy[/B] a company worth more than them. Seriously dude?

Anyway, I think this would be an epic combination.

Given that this rumour hasn't been updated, I doubt they have then.

To all the people saying that Valve has money i have to reply: Are you srsly comparing a business with a game studio in terms of capital? Naive to say the least. I hope Valve gets bought, maybe that way they'll have to stick to deadlines and not dick around for year round a game and say they are "polishing" it.
I'll take a finished, awesome game that's published late over a rushed, unfinished, buggy deadline scrapheap any day.

Also: According to Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valve_Corporation], Valve has over 70 million USD in revenue, and rising.

How about a game that's not buggy and on fucking time? How about that? Admiting Wikipedia as a reference (what a joke), if they have the money they can buy the manpower or at least post a realistic deadline.

Btw, 70 mil is pocket change compared to a lot of other gaming industry names.

I wonder if that having someone own Valve would make them speed up production and keep a more hard-lined schedule? Would that even be a good thing?

The headline is very misleading... Bethesa and Zenimax are two different things... and who know what Zenimax would do with a distribution service....

Fuck no, I don't like this at all.
Bethesda will only fuck it up, and it's only through ValvE's freedom that their games are so damn good, in fact, they'd probably get assigned jobs instead of the 'do it if you want to and can' method Valve had before, which also helped.
