That sounds like good news, Valve can access more funds and personnel and deliver games sooner, which is their biggest problem. Either that, or it would make no real difference, but I really can't see how that could hurt Valve.

so maybe they'll actually develop for more than just m$ systems and give up excuses of "not having the man power" or something equally as bad
My thoughts exactly. I hope this is true for that reason alone.
Sure Bethesda sometimes gives the PS3 stuff late, but hey the PS3 eventually gets it.

I think this is a great move. Valve and Bethesda are the greatest company ever. Together they could rule the world.
Zenimax doesn't really do much except support the devs, I think it is a great move because all it does it give Valve another leg to stand on, and Zenimax doesn't fuck with their developers products unlike companies like Activision or force them out early like what Sony did to the first Uncharted.

To all the people saying that Valve has money i have to reply: Are you srsly comparing a business with a game studio in terms of capital? Naive to say the least. I hope Valve gets bought, maybe that way they'll have to stick to deadlines and not dick around for year round a game and say they are "polishing" it.

Ad long as it only makes both better i'm fine. If either quality is compromised well then.... bad things will happen.... BAD THINGS, like me not capitalizing the i in I'm in the first sentence.

No! They'll both just backhand us PS3 owners give us nothing but table scraps.
Valve already does...

Anyways, this could be good. As long as Steam doesn't change and Valve is capable of releasing shit faster due to having bigger teams working for them it'd be a smarter move. More money for Valve.

Although, I don't want Valve to go all EA on us and become a complete dickhead because they have money.

You abbreviate Microsoft's name with a dollar sign like they're the only company around that's all about the money...

Hilarious.

Especially when you seem to imply that Sony and Nintendo, of all companies, are better...
ahhh yes cause we all know both Sony and Nintendo charge for their online, have considered offering time limited operating systems and software, limiting access to their os depending on how much you pay, been convicted of illegal monopolies, keep raising the costs of their stuff, removing the ability to use third party devices on their system and various other things.

sorry but neither Sony nor Nintendo has done that, both Sony and Nintendo have been rather consumer friendly companies recently compared to m$ and their tactics

If Bethesda's TES:V schedule and VALV[sup]E[/sup]'s HL2:Ep3 schedule are in any way allowed to mingle...

My calculations show that no new games will come out of either of those companies for eight and a half eons.
Just imagine if somehow Blizzard got involved. A new word would have to be made because a release date of 'in an eternity' wouldn't cut it.
Fucking hell that would be SO awesome if all 3 merged. It'd take YEARS for shit to release but everything they made would literally be solid gold.

God I hope not, I like Bethesda and all, but Valve needs to be it's own sovereign company.

If they team up i will commit suicide. Bethesda is ok but Valve is the greatest thing that to happen to the gaming industry since Tetris. An apocylapse shall happen as the emperor of mankind comes down and backhands anyone he sees who supports this.

I hope all of you making indirect complaints at Valve's dev schedule REALLY enjoy when someone does force Valve to take schedules more seriously, and the game isn't up to Valve standards. Enjoy having your cake when it was promised; I hope you choke on it, because it'll probably taste like poo. I'm sure it hurts precious ever so much when entertainment items which precious has been fantasizing about get delayed so it can be done right. /hyperbole

I also am worried they could force Valve to make all their games PC only and only buyable by Steam.
I don't see how this could be a bad thing. At least that way, people would stop getting burnt by the bastardized console ports which are an affront to the game they were meant to be, and to the players stuck playing them.

Kudos, cleverlymadeup, on turning this so quickly into a conversation about the PS3. Because that's obviously what this is about. Remind me, why is it a bad thing for a studio to focus on a single platform (because we all know the 360 is a glorified, candy-coated PC)? We're talking about one of the most critically-acclaimed developers, and you're criticizing them for going about their business as they see fit? Kudos^2 then, on your massive cajones.

Great, now Valve can cater to the fucking idiots who buy every Release of Madden. Soon we will be looking at Half-Life 18: Episode 37 and it will suck balls.
