If they release those games on the same day...Well if that happens anyone want to take bets on how many fights will break out? COD has a very large very blind fanbase. If battlefield3 isn't offering sexual favors with each copy I'm not sure if they can beat out COD. I'm sure it will sell very well and all that but I just can't see it winning. Its like taking on WoW in an MMO war. Guess who wins.

The stupidity of this move would be astounding, if it weren't coming from EA. I would compare it to a guy noticing a spider crawling up his leg and him immediately figuring the best solution to the problem would be jumping into a vat of sulphuric acid.

I can only hope it doesn't backfire so massively that EA gives up on the BF series due to some misguided notion that if it can't beat COD, it's worthless.

What's next for the brilliant EA marketing team? Releasing a new MMO on the same day as the next WOW expansion, perhaps?

It's a big money pile and EA have always been sorta insane...Funnily I stopped playing those types of shooters since MW2 so I'm just gonna wait patiently for Brink to drop in price and get all the glitches ironed out.

Battlefield 3 it is, then.
I'll get MW3 at a later date; I'm not interested in the MP unless it has an insane amount of customisability, and the Single Player is all I'm really interested in it for.

Battlefield 3, though.... Wow.

I hope it beats CoD.
And I think it might just be such a brash and reckless tactic that it may work. I mean, look at the amount of Adverts you see for Battlefield 3. I'v seen them on this very website, Spotify, FAIL Blog has Game adverts that routinely say "Battlefield 3 is coming!".
And Modern Warfare 3 isn't even officially announced yet.

Activison have a giant, hench man for Battlefield 3 to tackle, but it seems to me like Battlefield has been working out and is getting one hell of an early run up, and the Modern Warfare 3 giant hasn't even turned round to see a challenger charging at him yet.

I am definitely picking up BF3 over COD, but that doesnt mean I wont pick up COD afterwards as I am not a big online player and fps have horribly short campaigns. I miss split screen.

Pfft, what do I care? I'll be playing Skyrim and Uncharted 3.

I'll be interested in seeing which ones my friends pick though. I daresay it'll be MW3, but I know some of them hated Black Ops, so they may end up buying BF3.

Either way, I'll still berate them for buying another stupid FPS game which they'll only ever buy for multiplayer anyway.

BF3 will be my preference, if any. I'd rather save my cash for Skyrim/ME3 though.

i feel that the best way is to simply put it out a month before CoD, so people who just got this won't want to spend another $60, but it's also long enough that people aren't going to wait a whole month

I would like a BF 3 to not suck, I would love for SW TOR to be great, and please don't turn MS 3 into a CoD knock off.

Why does it feel like a lot of my favorite games are being hurt by EA and their schemes to become the #1 at everything?

Bad idea. Having played previous battlefield titles, i belive they are vastly inferior to MW. Despite all the bad press MW has on this site, it is the best console multiplayer for competitive gaming. A good game will, even a better game will be crushed under the call of duty franchise. Even Halo and GoW fear Cod, just as all MMOs fear WoW

Just another way that Battlefield is imitating Call of Duty in every way.

Battlefield doesn't have nearly as large a name in the console market than it does on PC or Call of Duty does on console. This is just plain stupid by EA.

While I'd love for BF3 to come out victorious. I don't think it will.

I will definately be buying BF3, and not bother getting MW3 until its in bargain bins or steam sale (I still haven't bothered getting MW2 - I find the multiplayer horrible and while the single player of COD4 amused me, it had little to no replay value for me).

So prove me wrong EA. Make a big enough buzz about Battlefield 3, that you get the console masses screaming for BF3, and steal some COD players over to the side of big ass battles and actual stratagy in their war games!

"EA has said that it will be its biggest launch ever, with an "enormous commitment of resources" put into promoting it. It looks to me like the 2011 holiday just got a whole lot more interesting."

Hmmm, just wasting money on extremely overpriced TV commercials aimed at random people ain't gonna do it. How about spending your enormous resources on giving away free DLC several times after release? I doubt the holidays will be more interesting because of this t.b.w. Who cares about two IP's ripping each other off being released on top of each other? They should release when the first guy has run out of steam instead.

If you give me two diamonds at the same time I will have only time to enjoy one fully. Later I will have moved on to platinum or something :p
