And thus the franchise is killed by Kotick and his crew of Milk maids and men. Such a shame.

Calumon: Kotick has his own bosses, right?
Yes I believe they are the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
He's just the guy to kick start it all, then call forth the 4 from his tower of eternal darkness.

That is why EA's 10 dollar plan never made it to the 360.
I'm confused by this statement. I thought project ten dollar did make it to the the 360 with Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, and Battlefield 2?
That was sarcasm ;) Saying that it can't happen because of not all consoles having HDDs standard when we have stuff like this going on is not an arguement.

If this really happens, it depends what sort of subscriptions were talking about here.

For instance it could be like, if you subscribe -> You get the map packs we make for a year, at a more beneficial price then if you bought them seperately, plus some skins or something and whatnot

However if its pay2play for MW2 online, then they can sure go right to damnation!

Straight from Redmond:

Xbox Support: RT @fourzerotwo MW2 subscription plan rumors going around. For the record, nobody has to pay to play COD or MW2 multiplayer, nor will they.

Me: @XboxSupport So are you confirming that no one will have to pay to play MW2 multiplayer at any point, or telling @fourzerotwo that we won't?

Xbox Support: @MILLANDSON Yes you will not need to pay anything more than your Xbox 360 Gold membership. ^SM

So, at least according to Microsoft Support, there will be no sub fees.

This is the reason why I changed my avatar. Whether that image is doctored or not, Kotick's gone to far.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the wind as it flies over my head. =P. Thanks for clarifying.

I'd bet this "discovery" is fake. Just strikes me as odd that this shows up after Kotick made the subscription comment. Wouldn't it have probably been found before now if it was real?

If they expect it to succeed, then they are very delusional. I doubt there's a large enough audience for this to succeed, since very few people would want to pay to play the game on top of a Gold subscription.

Then again the $15 map packs that are complete rip-offs seem to have sold rather well, so who knows.
God, it makes me crazy knowing I have several friends who bought them, especialy since the commercials were terrible when the second one came out for the 360.
Anyway, I guess I mightas well go get to Level 70 on MW2 now while I have the chance.

As violent as this is, I can't help but wait to see the reaction of the fanboys surpass that discription. But seriously, what the hell is Activision thinking?! Do they honestly believe they can do this and make a profit? Forcing $15 dollar map packs is a stretch as is, but subscribing to the multiplayer of a $60 dollar game on consoles, that's just bad business.

I would buy that it is a hoax except what is the end game? It would be pretty hard to hack the 360 like that to get that specific message to pop up. I suppose you could get your PC to mimic it and run a cord to your TV. But then it comes down to why? Why would someone go through all the trouble for this? I mean it isn't a big surprise that he wants to milk gamers dry. It sure isn't a surprise that he wants and probably will institute some sort of subscription fee at some point. If I had that kind of skill I would post something like Castle Crashers being at 0 points and laugh my ass of as people jump on the marketplace to discover that it really isn't. Then watch the forums explode in a fury of hatemail.

And you hit one of the nails right on the head. There is no way a map pack with 3 recycled maps from the previous installment should have sold at 15 bucks. But it sold how many millions exactly? I have a hard time blaming them for pushing the line when no one is pushing back (A.K.A. NOT BUYING IT!!!!)

See... this is the kinda shit that Tim Schafer was talking about when he said that Bobby Kotick hates games. He wasn't talking about the amount of time that Kotick spends playing them in his off-times as the rebuttal would have you thinking. Schafer was talking about shit like this subscription bullshit with Modern Warfare. Not content with the billions that the game much already be raking in, Kotick now wants to add a subscription system to the game? I'm sorry, but that's only going to kill the franchise, very quickly.

Bobby Kotick may or may not enjoy playing games, but he clearly hates them with how quickly he tries to run them into the ground to try and suck every dollar out of them that he can.

well if they do this they can join the >>>NO BUY CLUB<<< with EA.
Ea was getting lonely playing in the sand by himself ever since Valve got there shit together and started to be a good company again.

For Modern Warfare 2, because it would be a major outrage if MW2 suddenly started demanding a £5/month subscription fee (on top of Xbox Live charges). Even when Acti inevitably try subscription fees, I can see it falling on its arse, but we'll see.

The shit you try and pull just amazes me.
And I just hate your grasping ways.

For games that are already out. Which would probably be illegal if they tried that. That doesn't mean Black Ops (or whatever MW3 is being called) won't have one.

The only way I would even think of subscribing to a FPS MMO would be one way. There has to be one map and one map only, THE ENTIRE FREAKING PLANET, and EVERYTHING has to be useable. And I mean being able to open up a fridge and making yourself a sammich!

Just one person? Of the hundreds of thousands of 360 Modern Warfare 2 players?

I don't believe it.
