This is only a good thing if the DLC purchased for LBP1 is able to be carried over into LBP2. I'd like to see some goodies for those of us who spent countless hours collecting things in LBP1. Access to the costumes we purchased (though not made with in game things) and access to purchased set pieces would be nice. If LBP2 is in production, Sony needs to take that into account for those of us who spent money into LBP1 on things that would be ridiculous to ask money for again in LBP2. That's like asking if we want to purchase Mad Moxxi's Arena for Borderlands 2. Unless there are significant changes, there should be easy access to the Street Fighter, MGS4, or other costume packs.

Welcome the Escapist!

I'd be willing to wager they would let you keep your current content in LBP2, otherwise, simply, it wouldn't sell as well to dedicated fans of the DLC.

Didn't Media Molecule already say they weren't going to make a LBP2? I remember them saying it would be counter-productive or something along those lines.
They sure did, just a while before Sony bought them up to I'm guessing it's their decision now.

Wait... LBP2 sounds like a cheap R2-D2 knock-off.
They're dead set in competition with Valve.

I don't see why this couldn't just be a huge DLC though. It could be but it no doubt won't be. Too bad I think that would would work fine.

This seems....unnecessary at first glance.

I mean, what would they improve on from LBP1 and how would they go about it?

If they can pull this off, it'll be big, but I can't shake the doubt in the back of my head. It sounds too much like a "great idea" from corporate instead of from the devs.

Shame, I was hoping they'd continue releasing more DLC for the first game, like they'd originally said. Still, LBP has had a good run, and I expect a sequel would add a truckload of stuff that wouldn't work so well as simply DLC.

I shall approach any sequel to LBP with caution. That said, if Stephen Fry voices the tutorials again, no force in heaven or hell will stand between Sony and my money.
