Ryan Reynolds Releases First Official Deadpool Picture

"With Great Power, Comes Great Irresponsibility"

Ryan Reynolds just made our Friday a little sweeter. Today, he tweeted out a first look at Deadpool's official suit for the upcoming live action movie slated to release early next year. Check his recently-posted tweet to bask in the glory of the official suit, and so much more.

[tweet t=https://twitter.com/VancityReynolds/status/581485601674792960]

Looks like Deadpool is trying to seduce us all, and it's working. Behold not only the beauty of the suit itself, but also the bearskin rug on which he lounges and roaring fireplace in the background. That, plus Reynolds' tongue-in-cheek twist on the classic Spiderman phrase suggests to me that we're in for a great ride with his portrayal of the crimson anti-hero.

A fluffy bearskin rug, enticing fire, and Deadpool front and center? In a first look at the official suit, what more could you really ask for?

I don't know why people are so excited for this movie. Reynolds is a bad actor and Tim Miller is a worse director.

I concur.

Can't imagine this being anything other than horrible.

It doesn't help that this took so long for them to get the ball rolling that the Deadpool train has long ago departed.

I'm sure there's still plenty enough people who are into later Deadpool's "zOMG so randumnz! moose!" humor, but for the most part the character has been played out, and the one-two punch of the Wolverine: Origins film and the video game made sure the average moviegoer isn't going to give much of a shit anyways.

I understand the Wolverine: Origins hate, but what was wrong with the Deadpool game? It did reasonably well in sales and with the critics.

Yeah, that's definitely Deadpool. Hopefully we get a trailer soon as I need to see him in action. This needs to be the superhero equivalent of The Naked Gun or Airplane! where it's spoofing every superhero movie trope you can think of. And to think this is set in the same universe as the X-Men films

Well, they got the look right, but... Part of the Deadpool charm are his great facial expressions - coming through his mask!

Eyes that change in size, visible movement of the lips, I don't see how you could do that in live-action (or at least: without live-action and horrible CGI).

That said, I'll forgive many things as long as the movie can deliver on one single front: fun.

I agree about Reynolds, but all Tim Miller has done for directing are two shorts more than 10 years ago. I haven't seen either of them mind you, but I don't see how you could possibly know if he's good or bad at this point.

I thought the "test" clip was great. I'm hoping they can make something of it; I don't think there's ever been a character quite like Deadpool in the movies. Hey, I might even be willing to forgive how awful XO:W was.

I'm sure part of the benefit of the suit is making it easier to use a shiny CG character in action scenes, a'la the first Raimi Spider-Man- bit I've got to say, wearing what looks like a full-body vinyl suit for long stretches of time has got to get uncomfortable.

I'm not generally interested in the movies, but I am a long time Marvel reader; I can't imagine Deadpool would make for a good film, unless they went all CGI and animation. Now, that I would watch.

It bothers me that Marvel/Disney are so afraid of broadening the scope of their animation work. It especially doesn't make sense with Disney in the mix. It's not like they don't know animation!

What I want is an animated big-budget feature Marvel film-- I'm pretty sure it would blow all the bluescreen and photorealistic CGI to kingdom come and back.

I take it you haven't seen Buried, Adventureland, The Voices, Definitely, Maybe, or The Nines.

On the pic: Shut up and take my body!
In general: Now, all we need is an official trailer and I might give this a[nother] shot...

Add Smokin Aces, or any other movie where he plays a desperate man like Safehouse or the upcoming Self/less. For some reason he can really look desperate.

I'm guessing you've traveled back in time to share this information what with the zero films the man has directed to date?

Thank God, Im not the only one. Deadpool has never once held any interest for me. The whole schtick of this character seems predicated on his "wacky", "zany" "style". And its just so incredibly "Meh".

Its like Deadpool is famous for being famous.

You mean, like, Big Hero 6?

The only way I'll accept a Deadpool movie is if it's a totally serious action film with Deadpool in the corner, watching and poking fun of it MST3K style. After he gets pissed off at the ending (Where he dies), he goes and murders the entire Disney staff in horrible, photorealistc ways. Silently.
