Looks I should just replay SR2, right?
It still looks great, if I had the time and money I'd pick it up. SR2 was the right balance of insanity and drama.

In my opinion, This game is trying way too hard to have more variety than GTA,
that it forgot one very important thing for any sandbox game, interesting city to explore.
Tho, I like Saints Row's series because of its siliness.
Simply blame the new publisher for probably forcing this game out so early, it should have been a next gen release with a new city, too bad :(
So IMO, Not worth $60.
But how do you know the city isn't interesting to explore? Have you played it? The reviews I've read have said that there's plenty of stuff to do in Steelport (As well as the other locations you visit).

And Saints Row IV was always going to be this gen, and I believe I read somewhere that their designing the next Saints game with the next gen in mind, since it's going to be a different story with different characters.
By exploring Sr3's city i can tell you its going to be the same city in SR4. I've already recognized a few places i saw in Sr4 from SR3's map. The new thing is the wierd red tower in the city or what ever it is LOL.
The Story looks pretty cool, I want to know more about Zinyak and The Zin Empire. Also theres same gun fights system from SR3 in SR4(Which is a good thing for me). And now you can have super powers, new guns and more new things.
Tho, IMO, they rushed the game too much. they could wait a few more months and change more things at the game instead of taking existed things from SR3. For example, the character customization is pretty the same from Sr3.
Also, Most of the cars which are going to be in SR4 were already existed in SR3, which is a pity.
They could focus on making more cool activities, Cause I really enjoyed SR3's activities.
But I can totally say, I'll get the game eventually, for sure.
SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!

"Why won't you let me love you".

I've had this pre-ordered for months and when I got to get a hands on go at PAX Aus it was so worth it for the Dubstep gun. How can a weapon be that fun to use?

The Superpowers + Sandbox (FIIIIIIIIIIIINALLY, GAMES INDUSTRY!) have me tempted, but some people gave Saints Row 3 a 10/10 and that was shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
I'll wait for the full package thing they did last time after all the inevitable bullshit DL"C"

There's been plenty of superpower sandbox games though.

Games that this one is obviously ripping powers from. There is no mistaking the flying-squirrel move from Prototype.

Saints Row, punching the self-important pretentiousness that's infected gaming right in the mean bean machine. And I wouldn't have it any other way

I still don't see how you can call the game rushed. It's been two years since The Third, which is pretty average for a game sequel, and the Saints Row series in general. Yes, it's still in Steelport, and using a lot of the same resources from 3, but we still haven't seen much of the games content. You don't know how much of Steelport has been changed up, or if they added a lot more clothing options (I've already seen a ton of new stuff just from the promotional material). If it turns out that they should have spent more time on the game, I'll say so myself. But after I've played the game, not before.

Your English is fine, by the way. Better than some native speakers I know.

Well I guess you're right, but in general the game looks pretty fun and so far it got a lot of good grades.

There must be something wrong with me, I never find this type of thing "fun". It's too over the top and the mechanics/gameplay are childishly simple. All the same praises were given to SR3 when that came out, and really the game was pretty awful, unless you go nuts for the bizarre forced humor.

Not trying to be a GTA fanboy here, but I'm all-in for GTA 5 and can't wait for that. I'll be playing the new XCOM and Payday 2 instead of SR4 me thinks.

I'm so glad I've pre-ordered this game. I wonder what the DLC will be like?

I'm sure they are aware of that. I use "tho" all the time as well.

There is no such thing as a "Grammar Nazi" btw, the National Socialist German Workers' Party didn't have a "Grammar" division, tho they did have an office for Propaganda.

It's a new neo nazi division.

Play as the Hulk combined with the Flash combined with Dr. Strange, cool.

Okay you can't romance Keith David, can you at least get into a fist fight with him over wearing sunglasses?

Well, spoiler alert, but:

Roddy Piper is in the game (Kinda similar to Burt Reynolds in SR3, from what we've seen), and it's known through achievements/spoilers that someone ends up betraying the Saints to help the aliens. I'll let you figure out who.

OT: Glad to hear that reviews of this game are very positive. Wasn't looking forward to the game when it was first announced, but now I'm ready to play it.

I might actually have to get this one earlier than intended. I started with SR2 and played it to completion who knows how many times, but playing a friend's copy of SR3 didn't really hook me the same way. (I still bought it, but much later, after it went way down in price.) The lack of a Keith David romance is killing me, though. :/

Currently playing through the Third following the Steam sale, while I'm enjoying it my feelings are that if you're going to go wacky then go right off the deep end. The Third is not quite that, as there are times where I very much felt I was playing the gang war angle of the first two games. Now that it is out of the way, hopefully IV will be that deep end.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who's ever played Crackdown. Nobody ever mentions the similarities to it.

I played Crackdown, and not just for the Halo 3 beta. It was good, but other super sandboxes like inFamous are a lot better. And Crackdown 2... well, that was just bad.

I've already got this preloaded, and I'm just sitting here, watching movies and Doctor Who until I can download those last few kilobytes and start running around with superpowers.
