save file error

I just wanted to ask a question and this seems as good a place as any, the thing is that lately, whenever i would try to save in a game that i downloaded into my computer, it would either saw that it saved without actually doing it, or close down in my face with an error message saying: Acess denied-save1.sav
or something along these lines, since that i would really like to play games on my computer, I would like to have some advice on how to fix it. thanks in advance.

Other than it's probably trying to save in a folder that you don't have write access to, you really didn't give us anything to work with.

What game? What OS version? Etc.

It happens to rpgmaker games and cavestory, however it suddenly started happening today, yesterday it wasn't happening and i had no problem saving my games then. to be more precise on the games, these are the only games i tried with it so far.

Operating system eg Windows xp, Vista, Windows 7 etc.

Actually, i think i figuered out what was the problem, all my save files, whether it is rpgmaker save files or flash games save files, they became impossible to over write causing the game to crash to simply not save. it's a weird problem, but I'm pretty sure that I can fix it now
