I'm sure this topic has been done to death, but it's all in good fun. So...

I love The Legend of Korra but the romance subplot felt kind of forced. I get that romance is hard to do, especially with teenagers. One wrong move and the whole thing just becomes obnoxious. Are they good characters on their own? In this case yes. Are they good together? Erm... maybe kinda sort of? I just wasn't really feeling it. Also, Korra suddenly getting her bending back kind of pissed me off. That could have been a good portion of season 2, but nope. They decided to take away her powers then give them back to her in the same episode. So much for character progression... Oh well. Still looking forward to Season 2.

I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic but part 2 of the season 1 premiere, The Elements of Harmony, was ridiculously rushed and is without a doubt my least favorite episode. I personally think it would have been much better if they devoted one episode to each pony showing how they represent their respective element, fleshing out what the Elements of Harmony really are while also devoting more time to the characters themselves.

I love Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the series, not the movie) but the first half of season 3 was boring. I get that they wanted to have episodes that focus less on the Clone Wars itself and more on how the war affects the main characters, and in some cases it is where the series truly shines, (see Asajj Ventress and Ahsoka Tano) but focusing on the politics of the Star Wars universe didn't work in the prequel films, and it definitely doesn't work for what is essentially a Saturday morning cartoon. (A cartoon that becomes progressively darker the farther you go into it, mind you.)

I hate the Transformers films (big surprise there) but when the action scenes focus on the robots, the films become mildly enjoyable.

I'm not a fan of Call of Duty or shooters in general, but with the right friends it can be a blast to play.

As boring as The Phantom Menace is, I love the podrace. Sure, the scene kind of dragged it's feet but the concept just seems so ridiculous! It's chariot racing, but the horses are replaced with jet engines! How can that be anything but awesome?!

That was because it was planned for ONE season. Then midway during production, it got expanded to a few more. They obviously weren't going to scrap everything and do it again, so we got what we got.

OT: The thing I absolutely hate about Persona 4 is that one wrong move on the wrong day at the wrong time can totally ruin your 100% playthrough. Just ONE!

What I loved about Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2, like what MovieBob said, it had Dakota Fanning being ripped apart and eaten by wolves. Yay!

Something positive:
Final Fantasy XIII is a beautiful game. It is visually very impressive, considering the systems it was developed for.

Nobody has forced me to actually watch The Hangover. I'll count that as a point in its favor.

Something negative:
Persona 4 ends. Also it skips a bunch of days near the end of the game, and once you've maxed out Social Links there isn't really any new dialogue for your character to have with those other characters. And the first few dungeons are pretty boring, aesthetically, so the repetitive level design gets very draining.

Quina and Amarant are basically throwaway characters in Final Fantasy IX. And Trance is broken.

Sonic Generations could use far more stages to play. It's too short, even for a Sonic game.

Bioshock has terrible weapon/enemy balance, making the wrench the most effective weapon to actually use, and becoming more evident that it's the best weapon about halfway through the game.

Mawaru Penguindrum- Well, it's unique. Can't say I've seen anything like it, and I liked the first seven or eight episodes. I also get a laugh out of the minute long transformation sequences.

Working!!- Um... it looks good. I like the gradient colored hairstyles, and the openings are cool.

Aria The Scarlet Ammo- The last episode was unintentionally hilarious.

Apocalypse Zero- It's at times so ridiculous and tasteless that I sorta get a laugh out of it.

Kampfer- I liked that student council president character.

Eiken- Um... well... it's, uh... nope, I've got nothing. This is seriously the worst anime I have ever seen.

Madoka Magica- Animation at times can be a bit off. Also, not of fan of the whole "some historical figues were actually magical girls" subplot.

No More Heroes- Some gameplay elements are questionable, like random power-ups.

K-ON!- the first season had some inconsistent animation, and the pacing was a bit odd. Also, that random music video scene that pops out of nowhere and never happens again.

Death Note- Very silly and over-the-top at times.

Bakemonogatari- Nisemonogatari was a bit too ecchi.

Evangelion- Original anime doesn't hold up as well as you'd think. The third rebuild movie was disappointing.

Kino's Journey- Hermes' voice is a bit annoying in English (And before you get on my case about how I should've watched it subbed, I loved the English Dub EXCEPT for that one voice)

FLCL- Um... uh... again, I've got nothing. This is one of those anime that anything it gets wrong it gets right.

I love the Assassin's Creed series with a passion, but even I must say that the third one had it's flaws(DESMOND'S BACKPACK KEEPS CLIPPING INTO HIS BACK?! WTF!)

While I hate Call of Duty I do enjoy playing it sometimes.. Though after the tenth time I have to listen to ranting ten year olds I quickly leave again only to come back a week later.

Something nice about something I hate?

In DC's The New 52, the first few issues of Animal Man were not eye-gougingly awful, prior the an issue ending with "we're off to see the Swamp Thing!" which provided my oh fuck no moment. In defence of Animal Man, I made it much further than I did with any of the other New 52 stuff I've tried to read.

Something bad about something I love?

Civilization: Revolution is a real bastard when it comes to games ending. Last night I spent an hour or two working up to a cultural victory, and the Indians had launched their space module so we had an interesting race going to see whether I'd get my cultural or they'd get their technology victory. As my United Nations wonder was 7 turns away from completion, my advisor pops up and goes "Hey, the game is ending in five turns, so whoever gets the highest score wins a domination victory!"

Which really pissed me off. I still won, because I'd used a special person to steal the capital city of the Zulu making me the only one to actually capture a capital, but winning while 2 turns away from the victory I'd spent a couple of hours working towards made me seriously annoyed.

Why did he even need a backpack all the time? Was he carrying post-missions snacks in there to keep his blood sugar up?

The AC series is one for me, too - one of my all-time favourite franchises, but 3 was so dull I struggled to finish it, and have never gone back to do side missions or collectibles, which is rare for me. I normally don't give a shit about 100% completion or even doing a high majority of stuff in games, but I used to love Assassin's Creed so much I'd make an exception.

Anonymous may be just a conglomeration of degenerate troglodytes masquerading as humans, a few of them have a conscience and attack those that deserve it. For the most part, they attack people with little justification, but sometimes they get it so right.

What do you say about companies and thing you do have a love/hate relationship like Nintendo? On the one hand, I love their games, no matter how many "another bloody" entry in their IPs get released. Aside from Other M, I played and thoroughly enjoyed every Metroid game and every Zelda game. Even in Ips where change and actual innovation is scarce like in Mario and Pokemon I love pretty much all of them (dear lord, the game hours timer in Black 2 is reaching 400 :C ). On the other hand, they threw two pretty decent consoles on the market and now let them rot with few to none games in the immediate future which makes them pretty expensive dust collectors >:C

LOVE:

Okami - The platforming sucks, and that final chapter strayed too far away from the setting and the characters we've grown to love. Also using the same Boss battles over and over.

Ghibli movies - The lack of variety in character design. This is what I liked about Spirited Away; The characters, especially Chihiro, were not designed with the typical Ghibli dollhead aesthetic.

The Incredibles - The epilogue at the track, and Violet's voice.

Tangled - That stupid chameleon might as well not have been there at all. He added absolutely nothing to the movie, and always conveniently buggered off whenever the drama set in. Those are signs of a character not belonging in your movie.

Berserk - The Berserk armour... FUCK YOU!!!

HATE:

Metal Gear Solid 4 - The nostalgia of chapter 4, and Naomi's cleavage.

Metal Gear Solid 2 - The first act with Snake.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Brilliant concept and fantastic production values.

Elfen Lied - Dat score...

Family Guy - Quagmire's rant why he hates Brian.

Hate: GIFs on forums. The nice thing I'll say about them is you get the very occasional one that is somewhat amusing. That rare GIF may even strike a smile on my face. Though it is very few and insanely far between, indeed.

Love: Heavy metal. It's one of my biggest passions in life, I love it. It's only thing I have experienced that can bring emotion out of me. Yet, goddamn it all, some bands are just too damn obscure. It becomes a struggle to obtain physical copies of some albums because of it. I remember seeing an album I wanted to buy recently for $150, and it was the only copy I've seen. So yeah, that's an issue.

I love the Miami Heat basketball team, but they have some serious size problems and are constantly getting out rebounded and bullied in the paint...

Things I hate: Waterstones. Mostly because of it's monopoly over physical books. Here in the UK, it's pretty much the only major bookshop chain, unless you count bargain books, which pretty much only sells dry history texts, arts and crafts, and childrens/teen books. But that's the thing isn't it? Why has waterstones become the leader of this market? Because they're the only reliable place for this stuff. WH smith's selection just isn't wide enough, and most independent stores are run by little old ladies who only stock older novels, and even then, little in the ways of sci fi, horror, and fantasy. Waterstones reliably offers a pretty good selection, and if there's a particularly popular book, you can practically guarantee they have it in stock.

Hell, the other reason waterstones annoys me is that they seem to take the view that books should rarely ever be discounted, and certainly shouldn't go down in price over time like anything else. And why do they do that? Simply because there's nobody left to properly compete with in their field, can't really blame them for reaping the rewards of their success.

Love: Nerd culture. I am a nerd, seeming as this is the escapist, you're most likely a nerd too, but dammit, sometimes some of our number can be unpleasant. A little while ago, I had a nerdy argument in which someone simply stated that they could continue the argument for as long as it took. Then I gave up, because it became clear what kind of person I was dealing with, the kind of person who can't stand being wrong, and will simply argue their point until the opposition is bored out of the argument, at which point they claim victory. This seems to be something nerds in particular are prone to.

Also, going back to waterstones, which almost always have a "nerd corner" in which all the sci fi, horror, fantasy, manga and graphic novels are kept, I've seen some pretty shocking displays of ignorance of ones fellow nerd. You can practically feel the misguided hatred burning off some of these people, that you have somehow desacrated their territory.

That said, I'll admit at some points I catch even myself guilty of that, when I see someone who stereotypically looks "normal" wondering into somewhere I consider "nerd territory" and some angry, cruel, even willfully ignorant part of myself screams "FUCK OFF HIPSTER SCUM!" and afterwards I'm left wondering what kind of person I actually am, a little like the feeling directly after you finish fapping to some awfully weird porn.

Love
Mass Effect 3 but the ending, and the ninja guy with Batman level plot armor
Return of the Jedi- Ewoks, enough said
The Dresden Files- my favorite book series but the way the last one ended did not sit well with me.
Molly becoming the new Winter Lady

Hate
Final Fantasy XII- Characters and plot were a bad Return of the Jedi Rip off but I loved the combat
Bioshock 2- no longer have to switch between plasmids and gun
Dragon Age 2- All bad but I actually liked the combat when playing a mage.

Things I Love
*I can't think of a single Final Fantasy that skips battles based on your party's levels. Why should I get forced into a battle scene with a level 5 vole when I'm in a party of level 20+'s!?! I'M GOING TO WIN!!
*Why do the starters in Pokemon feature fire/fighting types...what, 4 times out of 5? possibly 5 out of 6?
*Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage has a sequel...but it's difficult to find offline and the Wii U version is digital only
*Otogi: Myth of Demons is an excellent beat-em-up but has some bull-shit water levels

Things I Hate
*I hate bananas but they are an excellent source of potassium (it's potassium, isn't it?)
*Final Fantasy 13 is absolutely gorgeous
*Final Fantasy 13-2 features Ultros as a DLC boss
*The Ultimates volume 1...has good artwork for the most part (and isn't Ultimatum)

Good things about things I don't like:
- EA own good IP's.
- Mass Effect 3 had a great soundtrack.
- Dragon Age 2 had Varric.
- Xbox Live's party chat option.
- I work early mornings, but the upside means I also get most of the day free.

The Night Angel said:

This one too. I love the book series and don't like the films, but he was the absolute perfect choice for Snape.

Bad things about things I like:
- The outfit Motoko Kusanagi wore in Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex season 1. I am glad they gave her something more appropriate and a lot cooler for the second season.
- There is one moment near the end of Puella Magi Madoka Magika, where Madoka's mother let's her run off outside into danger, simply because Madoka reminded her that she once said she was trustworthy. I cannot see any parent relenting because of that reason. It would have made more sense for Madoka to just sneak off.
- Bioshock's aiming is appalling.
- Skyrim perk trees often make no sense. Like how you need to get the perk to make unarmed attacks more effective for Heavy armour, in order to unlock the perks for not taking as much fall damage, and heavy armour not slowing you down.
- Fallout 3's original ending. Only you can enter that radiation filled room to save the day! What? You have a super mutant and a ghoul as friends, and they can't be harmed by radiation? Well who cares? It's your destiny to die in there, so they won't do it.
- Skyrim again. For some bizarre reason, items that are most fitting for mages to wear are often given heavy armour status, therefore making them unusable if you wish to play as a "pure mage" who uses magic to protect themselves rather than armour.

Things I love:

Lost Odyssey expects you to grind a whole lot before boss battles, even by JRPG standards.
Red Dead Redemption didn't get a PC release.
Shadow of the Colossus could really do with better jumping animations/mechanics.
Dark Souls should have the covenant NPC give some kind of explanation as to why you would/should join said covenant.

Things I hate:

I wouldn't hate L.A. Noire at all if the "truth/doubt/lie" system worked or made sense.
Blue Dragon had some great music and locations (so many good names worked on it...how did it turn out like that?)
Final Fantasy XIII had some of the most beautiful hallways ever rendered on a console.
Resident Evil 5 can have some value, but only if you have a friend/wife to play it with. This is not how Resident Evil is supposed to work.

Good things about the bad:
Revengeance's blade mode is really quite astounding in how it operates. It will actually cut something into pieces appropriate to where and how you strike it. That aspect made the game almost feel like Otogi. NO MORE HEROES WAS 'SPOSED TO HAVE THAT.....mmm anyway

Tokyo Jungle is a wonderfully refreshing idea full of fresh air and quirkyness that we need more of.

Nickelbacks drummer is amazing. No really, check him out.

Bad things about the good:
Red Dead Redemptions Undead DLC is garbage.

Kingdoms of Amalur is very obviusly an aborted MMO.

Too Human was very repetetive, even for a seasoned dungeon crawler like me.

The male lead in Paranormal Activity is so bad in the second half of the film that he almost ruins everything that had been building up to that point.
