Welll... there are a couple ideas you could use:

- Louis & Clark (famous explorers of North America who had a habit of getting lost without Native Americans to hold their hands for them).
- Ursa Major and Ursa Minor after two start constellations. Seems reasonable.
- Kirk & Piccard (just take a guess... and no... I'm not a fan in the slightest, but I know enough people are).
- Terra and Firma (as in Terrafirma? idk)
- Galactus and Bob (I'm clearly running out of ideas)
- Mario & Luigi (never gonna happen)
- Mac & PC (would be cool if that's what OS were being primarily used on the respectable ships)

so on and so on.

Well, one would be Ark B and contain all the useless people of the world, obviously.

What ever they were called, they'd have tail numbers indicating that they were numbers 7096 and 22507.

no significance in the numbers other than the hope that anyone/thing hostile would think we have 22000 plus other colony/exploratory ships :)

Verity and Sydney.
I will seriously, honestly gift somebody a small iTunes purchase if they can figure out what it means.
Verity Lambert and Sydney Newman. Prodced Doctor Who. Bam.
... Did you read my mind? Because that's cheating.
Congrats, though. I am a woman of my word. What do you want from iTunes?

"enough gravitas for you" and "perpetual notion"

Baikonur and Kennedy. They're both important figures (okay, an important place and an important figure) in our adventure to space. (Plus Baikonur just sounds cool.)

"Awesome" and "his little brother" for even more obvious reasons... Or maybe one should be called "Hand of Nod" cuz we humans just love our C&C. Unfortunately, I don't think the aliens will get the reference.

"ONOZ" and "ROFLCOPTR"
Our generation is the greatest generation.

Or maybe "Bill" and "Ted"...
Don't you mean the ROFLSHUTTLE?

My choices would be the "Enterprise" and the "Heart of Gold" but the latter has to have a experimental drive of some sort.

If Mankind Didn't really launch two spaceships, then why is the topic title "mankind launches two new spaceships?" Are you a games journalist in training?

also, "humankind"
Seriously? That's all you decided to contribute? =/

Sleipnir and Tanngrisnir.
Or perhaps just Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr.
no. cool names, but how are they going to communicate?
"Houston, we have a problem. Tanngro... Tangri.. Tongra... ah screw this, we'll just walk back home!"

Odysseus and Hercules maybe? but I think they might be a bit too obvious :p
They're not hard to pronounce, really. You just need to know what the words sound like (or be able to speak a Scandinavian language)
Guess that's what Scandinavia will call their spaceships then :p
