Scariest Gaming Moments

Ok, this thread has been done a while ago, but based on another post asking how long before a post should be revived, i think it's ok to restart this, especially with the amount of games that have come out since august of last year.

what's the scariest moment you've had while gaming? it can be some time when you actually jumped due to gameplay or story, or when someone killed you online one kill shy of a kill streak you were attempting. anything related to gaming really. for me, the most recent frightening moment i had was playing fallout 3 and walking through vault 106. shit turned blue and some weird stuff happened involving computers and hallucinations. had to put the game away for a little bit after that.

Seeing the Nemesis from RE3 when I was 11. Darn thing scared me. Now I think the Nemesis is awesome.

I was listening to an audio diary in BioShock and a little into it I decided it would be better if I was watching the entrance instead of staring at the wall and a Splicer was standing right behind me!

Didn't even attack me until I looked at him, which leads me to believe it was scripted but I've only played that game once so I'm not sure.

Playing Morrowind on xbox for about 3 hours and then it freezed. I realized i hadn't saved since the beginning. So I had to do everything again. Such a time sink.

It was the dentist! That was my FAVOURITE moment in Bioshock, for srsly. DD But I didn't really appreciate it until after I shot him dead (it was kind of a reflex, on seeing him there xP).

The scariest video game moment for me was when I was playing Rule of Rose and I got to that part where the power goes out. Running around on the airship in the dark? With creepy monsters? And bad battle controls? FREAK. o.o

This freaked me out a little bit due to all the moments with the Ghosts. I walked through the first door and Alma appeared. I unloaded into her with my gun and she dissapered in a cloud of what i belive is blood. A little further in i see Alma again. I repeated what i did and got the same results. Then i got to the last part and saw a locked door. I looked inside and saw alma kill the man inside. Confused over what i was suppose to do i just stood there and tried to open the door. I looked behind me and there i saw Alma face to face. this was late at night and i nearly jumped out of my seat.

A scary moment was playing 5 Days a Sacrifice when you have the first dream or another one is from the game D (aka D's Diner / D no Shokutaku) just play the whole game and it is one of the most frightning game i've played

Ah yes, a scary moment indeed, surpassed only by the infamous Ladder Scare. If you don't know what I'm referring to, there's no way you actually played F.E.A.R.

ugh. hate that shit. my friend and i started the endless playlist on rock band and my 360 died (RRoD) about halfway through. we haven't attempted again, despite new xbox.

yeah i remeber that but i didnt actually see it. see when i was playing i accidently jumped off rather then climbed down. i lost a bit of health before noticing the ladder. I then went on youtube to see what the best scares were and i recongized the area. I was pissed that i just missed proably one of the scariest moments in the game.


either your talking about when you climb down the ladder and see alma waiting there or your talking about when you climb up a ladder and something jumps out at you.

I got this game for christmas called Darkfall. Turned out to be one of the scariest games I'd ever played (that was a while ago, don't know if I'd be scared by it now.) Anyways, you're walking through this old hotel, and there's absolutely no one there, your totaly alone. As such, I was totally off my guard, and I walked into another seemingly empty room, and I hear a voice whisper "go away, or they'll find me." I couldn't get out of that room fast enough.

In fallout 3, inside of the hospital, i forgot what it was called. I saw an enemy on VATS and was running around a pillar looking for him hitting the V button (PC) and BAM a god damn centaur zooms in on my face. Made me jump out of my chair....
