Only if you weigh 110 lbs honey, only if.

I mean, it's nice to have positive, intelligent role models for young girls, but all it's showing them is that you still have to be skinny and pretty. Why should that matter? Yes, I am a guy, and I DO appreciate pretty women, but you shouldn't have to parade around in skimpy clothing saying "Science is Great" (since it helped your obviously fake tits and sculpted face, I bet it is) in order to get girls to hit the books. If it does require pretty pretty dress-up to influence girls....well, then that says a lot of things about the female gender that I will not write for fear of being banned.
Agree with this, 100%
I feel most comfortable being a 'nerd' because there isn't so much of an emphasis on looks and you can get respected for your intelligence rather than your looks.
Now, uh... I feel like I'm going to have to lose 5 stone and wear a ton of make-up to be liked.
Oh well, I'm glad they're proving women can be brainy and beautiful.

Damn, ninja'd opinion right there and then.

I agree whole-heartedly with this statement, though. Using male sex-fantasies to advertise "hey, this isn't a male-only kind of industry" strikes me as a little bit insincere.

The notion is a little silly, and somewhat nonsensical, but hey, the cause is good eh? Eh?

It's interesting - I'm glad that they are showing people that cheerleaders don't have to fit into the stereotype of being airheaded and shallow, but at the same time it reminded me of those beauty pageants where they make a point of telling the audience that the girls are vets and doctors and teachers and whatever - you can be as smart as you like, but you're still participating in an activity that is (at face value) inherently shallow and objectifying. On the other hand, there is a lot of gymnastics and acrobatics in cheerleading, and if you're keen on that it's a sport in its own right, which you should be allowed to participate in if you wish. Never mind double standards, I thing the modern age has managed to build triple ones for women to have to wade through...

Thankfully we get some barrier breaking. As said before, more power to them. I can see them calculating the physics of their acrobatics during their off time.

Right, so, there are women in cheerleader uniforms cheering for science to encourage girls to think of it as a viable career for people with 46-XX genotypes. Great. Why the USA is out there with Somalia and Pakistan in the world of girls being told they're not up to such things, I don't know. Oh, well. As far as I got was a lot less annoying than any of the ________ I've seen on modern "crime science" shows.
