Whats wrong with being a virgin? People act like i'm missing out on some fundamental experiance of life because I havn't humiliated myself infront of a woman in an intimate setting.

Porn + Fap = Just as good.
Dude, seriously, I really don't think you believe that. At least, I can't fathom that anyone could actually believe that. I mean, I had a moderately humiliating first time (I was 15, she was 19, you do the math) but it was still way better than "Porn + Fap".

Disclaimer, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being a virgin. All in it's due time, right?

When was being a virgin decided as a bad thing anyway?
Failure to pass on decent genes?

Enough people on this board complain there is too many dumb people filling up the world, only way to combat that is to breed more intelligent people. :p
...or re-engineer VX nerve gas so that it only affects people with an IQ < 120.

This is the sort of shit I'd expect to see from The Sun. What's next? Video Games make you fat? OH WAIT. Point is, this study is pointless. The study seems to ground more into stereotype with this line.

"And who are the people at unis that go to the rave parties and the bar?

"It's not the nerdy boy science students.

"They're carrying on doing their experiments, going to the library or doing their assignments."

I'm sorry, but I'm one of the science nerds the study describes, and I go out with friends, got to parties, AND i have a girlfriend. So their study is FAIL.

Proof that the IQ of the world is dwindling to double digits.

I'm always wondering how the hell they get these studies.
Simple. They just pull them out of their ass. There are even more studies like this one that are A: Absolutely stupid. B: Done by really naive people. and C: They only base a lot of their studies on generalizations, which I should remind them They are immediately disproven if they find one person that doesn't comply with said generalization. I find it ironic they get paid for this shit.

When the IQ of the world slowly dropped to double digits.
I don't think you understand how this IQ thing works.

Nor this science thing.

I read this and had only one thing to say; "NO SH*T, SHIRLOCK." Why the hell do people perform research on things that are not only blatantly obvious, but ALREADY well-known? And then post it places like this: Where there are ONLY NERDS TO READ IT? Nerds who ALREADY KNOW THIS?

I find the topic of this thread to be in error. It should say "Study Finds Male Nerds Likely to be Virgins. "Science finds" implies that they have a scientific explanation other than a case study of Australian college students.

I came expecting some sort of scientific correlation between nerds and less scoring, such as genetics, or lack of physique, or small gonads. Nah, they half assed the study went to one university and ask nerds "has joo bean wiff der wimmons?" Hardly scientific.

By this study's logic I could head up a study that goes into lesbian bars, interviews patrons, and then publishes a study that states "Majority of Women Hate Men, Human Race
Doomed."

Edit: Oh noes. I necro'd. My bad, got mixed up a bit in the news room.

Eh it's fine,
but I think this study was a waste of time. But it does make me glad to be a cinema student (although not many girls like it when you tell them one of their favorite movies is utter crap in cinematic terms.

Thank GOD we are pouring money into research like this. Bush had a choice. Cure cancer OR learn about the sex lives of nerds.

Hahaha, I have to laugh at the reactions of the "scientists" who conducted this study.

"This study says that people who do Science are less likely to have sex. Wait, isnt that what we do.....awwww".

Well In other news a study confirmed that 90% of kittens have hair, that the sky is indeed blue, and that water is more likely to be wet then not.

I sincerely hope they blew the grant money on something other then procuring test subjects, because for a thing like this, its impossible to be any other way.

Yes and birds go tweet. I'm a virgin and I really couldn't care less. Then again that's a good thing cause I won't end up on Jeremy Kyle with a girl asking 'who's my baby daddy?'.

For everyone who is complaining about the waste of money on this research, it's science's job to waste our money. Do not question it, or you are a "budget nerd" who is even less likely to get laid anytime soon.

(Please don't eat me, it was sarcasm)
