Science!: Jurassic (Goat) Park, Mind Reading and Pimp-Slapping Fish

Inside: Goat Park probably wouldn't have been as exciting.

Lauren, I do believe scientists do these brain studies just to torture the rest of us normal, not-as-intelligent folks. It must be the reason they do these weird studies.

Thinking about the brain-image thing, it would be pretty handy to create your own art without having to worry about your dumb hands screwing it up.

Goat cloning: Scientists just need to let by-gones be by-gones and not bother cloning a dead animal. Mother Nature obviously wanted it dead! Why else would she drop a tree on the last known goat breed of that kind?

Mental looking: Shweet! Scientists will soon know how screwed up one can be in the head! :D Who's up for some scarring of scientists?

Pimp-slap fish: Got nothing to say about that one.

Desire length: Got nothing for that much either. Though... >_> I do wonder how it would work in a relationship.

If I'm not mistaken some scientists wanted to recreate a dinosaur by changing some genes of a chicken. If it works hell, awesome.

Hmmm...Well certainly means that genetics is moving leaps and bounds. Certainly dont want to see Bareny the dinosaur walking down the street though. Enough pot holes as it is

(On side note, trust the Telegraph to publish that! lol)

I wonder if dreams will be recorded by this. Could be used to mental analysis or to make a movie while you sleep.

Oh no! The though police are coming! Everybody guard your mind!
I'll just have to think about plotting world domination in French, and eat a potato chip with the rest of my mind!

Also, surely if scientists had a better understanding of genes, and a greater ability to manipulate them, then they could just repair old DNA... Actually, I guess at that point scientists could probably make whatever monstrosities they wanted to... Provided they could be birthed by an existing species.

The goat story sounded lazy to me. If they already had said genetic sample from the extinct goat, then wouldn't it be easier to alter DNA of existing goats to replicate the extinct one than to try and clone it? I admit I am a little in the dark about the mechanics of genetic reconstruction versus cloning.

All I will say is this:

If a 20 ton mutant goat eats my front lawn, I am going to be pissed.

The rule from what I got from watching the movies were:
DON'T clone meat eaters. Sure its not as fun or entertaining but your guests should have no reason to complain when they walk out alive.

That bit about distance and desire: I wonder if this might have something to do with mirages while stranded in the desert...

Yay, someone else who thinks Dane Cook isn't funny!

Cloned goats, thought readers, pimp slapping fish, and desire. Excellent article once again.

Scientists try to make a program for mind-reading, eh? Well, then they should stay away from my mental world. Looking at Cthulhu is safer.

Reading images directly from your brain is a terrifying idea, I'm shocked that they've already got it working so well, I'll be sure only to in colour from now on.
