This makes NO SENSE. If they have access to PS3's, they have access to outlets, if they have access to outlets, why not just smuggle in a charger along with the phone?

Inmates supposedly refer to it as "Addison," after the Raddision hotel chain, because its facilities are more modern and comfortable than the typical UK Prison. PS3 consoles are apparently just one part of this, as cells also have flat screen televisions, and en suite bathroom facilities.
While mobile phones are getting smaller and smaller and easier to shove up your arse, phone chargers are still quite bulky, have 3 painful prongs and a lot of trailing wire.danpascooch said:This makes NO SENSE. I have heard there is a cultural difference between prisons in europe and in the united states. In europe they don't kill each other, do drugs or rape one another. Hence they need other forms of entertainment.HankMan said:I just wanted to know how this worked, but i'll be sure not to ask honest questions again whenever you're online! sheeshOskamunda said:Did you actually read the four--count them! four!--paragraphs on this page before trolling? How would you suppose they use the wires from a cordless mouse to charge their cell batteries? If they were cordless, the mice would have AA's or something similar, and wouldn't need to be connected to the PS3 via USB...the entire ingenious idea being USB carries power as well as information, and that a basic circuit can be completed to connect to the cell battery.HankMan said:Are these cordless mice they're using? And isn't prison supposed to be a punishment, or is that just one those cultural differences across the pond?
These British Prisons sound like life in college dorms minus the essays and hangovers.
But, hey, it's a PS3: nobody cares!

Please don't act like I am unduly jumping down your throat...the answer to your question lay, literally, 35 words into the article that you are reading; and that's negating the fact that the operation in question is not even physically possible without the presence of wires...this isn't a Tesla Field we're talking about here. But, for the sake of argument, let's say that you honestly had no idea that electricity in the amounts required could be perpetuated through the air without wiring...if you cannot read 35 words before yapping, I'm not the one being silly. Being angry with someone for displaying such a stunning example of idleness does not make me a sociopath...sheesh!HankMan said:I just wanted to know how this worked, but i'll be sure not to ask honest questions again whenever you're online! sheeshOskamunda said:Did you actually read the four--count them! four!--paragraphs on this page before trolling?
