Can we just let this whole zombie fad die already? If we're not going to do something clever with it, we should just bury it.
I've got to ask, since I'm not sure about it, but has anyone made a movie about surviving the zombie apocalypse long term?Marter said:
I mean, almost all zombie movies have the heroes hole up in a mall or something, but I don't think I've seen one where the movie goes into how they'll keep getting fresh food (canned goods spoil) and water (bottled water soils eventually too, and the tap won't run forever without maintainance), or how to dispose of waste (it attracts flies, who then get on your food, and then you've got rampan dysentry (actually that's true for the zombies as well)), etc...
I mean, something like Zombieland would technically fit the bill, but it doesn't exactly go to great lengths to try to explain how it all works, since it's a comedy. But it is about more long-term survival.Mangod said:

So... it's a stereotypical kids movie trapped in an adult movie's body? Because it sounds like a movie for kids that love both zombies and immature humor and want to see a Rated-R film that covers, at least, one of those aspects...

"Land of the Dead" is the only one I can really think of, it was the 4th movie in George Romero's "Dead" series. It's at the point where Zombies have basically taken over the entire planet, and the remnants of humanity live in a giant walled in city (sort of like "Attack on Titan", now that I think about it). I honestly wasn't too impressed with the movie, but it was all right.Mangod said:
My biggest issue with Zombie movies is that, with the notable exception of the "Dawn of the Dead" reboot (or remake, or whatever it was) and maybe 'Zombieland' (love that movie) it's simply too unbelievable that Zombies could pose a big threat to mankind. They move 2 miles an hour, are incredibly stupid, and apparently get easier to kill over time (if we're going by Walking Dead rules). Especially looking at something like Walking Dead, we're supposed to believe that a random woman with a Samurai sword can kill about 10,000 Zombies on her own, but the combined might of the Military's of the entire planet were defeated by them?
As for this movie: yeah looked pretty terrible from the get-go, but holy crap, I'm now more convinced than ever that Sarah Dumont was actually created in a lab.
